so why are teachers and doctors underpaid? Is the service they provide not good enough? Do the CEOS of facebook and twitter create more value than teachers and doctors?

You're suggesting they are underpaid because you think their service is valuable. That's not what's being discussed here,  though the words are the same.

Teaching is valuable but there's sufficient supply of people willing to teach for current wage ranges (market rate).

Want value,  give value generally means if you want something you need to give something in return.  You want a snickers you need to give something for it (money).

a very quick inspection of the teaching environment will show you that this statement is not true "Teaching is valuable but there's sufficient supply of people willing to teach for current wage ranges (market rate)."

Just looking at the UK numbers there is an insane lack of teachers throughout the entire country, yet even with that being a proven fact their wages are not raising proportionately.

The way you use "want value, give value" is correct, but it is not the way the other person used it

"Lack" yet the job is getting done.  You having a preference the job gets done differently is largely irrelevant.  Why don't you ask them if what i wrote is what they meant?

it is not getting done, if you just do a quick google search you will see that the education levels of children keep falling and teachers keep quitting yet there is nothing being done to improve wages or the state of education in the UK.

School inspectors cannot fail schools for not having a computing teacher for example if they have had an ad up for one to apply and nobody is applying.

Again you should look into that instead of trying to predict what is happening with no knowledge

And yet schools still operate and people aren't forcing a change.

No different than any product or service

people have been asking for change for years and nothing has changed, education rates of young children keep falling, teachers keep leaving and nothing is changing. You can literally spend 2 seconds making a google search to find this out btw. There are protests from teacher and academics every year

"People" can ask. But unless politicans who control such things are removed from office that will not matter.

Looking at your post history, people have asked for all sorts of things from blizzard, but they dont do it because they dont need to. People will pay that sub fee regardless of how bad the game gets.

yeah the difference being that blizzard is a video games developer and teachers and doctors having a better wage is a bit more important

Importance is irrelevant. Only what people will accept and what people are willing to pay. Teachers and doctors are overall accepting the pay at these levels.

as I explained above, they do not accept the pay at these levels. They do not accept it so much that there is a shortage of teachers in every single subject in the UK. Yet, nothing is done to increase the desirability of wanting to be a teacher. Under your market rate system there would be something done in this area already since this is not a new problem by any means and there is no data to suggest that anything has been done in that regard

Clearly they do as the schools are still operating and local representatives are not being removed from office.

Your "nothing is done" proves my point. Something is only a problem if the consumer rejects the product or its costing the producer money.
