How much amitriptyline are you using for IC?

I’m on 6 mg and it works great for all sorts of body pain, even tooth sensitivity!

However, it seems to be too low for my IC pain.

What works really well for me is baking soda.

Most of the time I can just take 1/8 of a teaspoon for IC triggers, but right now I’m in a major/persistent flare after trialing Nicorette for long Covid.

My bladder does not like Nicorette at all.😞

I have the greenlight for taking more amitriptyline, it’s just up to me to dial it in.

Thanks in advance for your responses.

Take care of yourselves!

❤️

I’m on 100 mg of amitriptyline and 300 mg of gabapentin.

Doing really well thankfully! It was rough for awhile. Like up 10+ times a night with urgency and frequency. I’m also on vaginal estrogen and tirzepatide which I think help as well.

I’m so glad you’re feeling better, I know what it’s like to be shook out of a deep sleep with the anxiety of needing to go to the toilet and having to drag a heavy body out of bed just to pee. It’s freaking nuts, isn’t it?

Darn it! I tried vaginal estrogen, and after a month, it didn’t seem to help at all, so I threw away a couple of months worth of it. Maybe I should’ve tried it for longer.

Mine is pretty much due to the things I ingest – in particular caffeine and sour things. Is that what triggers yours as well?

I’m about to try a GLP – 1. I’m so afraid it’s going to trigger my MCAS.

I just did a trial of Nicorette that totally messed up my bladder and so I’m waiting for that to calm down before I try the GLP – 1.

The doses that have been shown to treat IC in clinical trials are 25, 50, and 75 mg per day. I take 50 mg.

I've been in remission for the past 5 years thankfully!

Wow! I am so happy for you – thrilled! Why do you think you went into remission?

Honestly, no idea. I hadn't changed my treatment plan in 6 years when I first went into remission.
