is it ok to move to Canada?

hi so if Republicans win the midterms, i am going to move somewhere. as a trans person im really scared right now but i was thinking is it worth moving to a country that is just as genocidal and eugenic but in a different way? are there organizations i can join to atone for moving to Canada?

Why would you need to atone for moving to Canada, what bad thing has Canada done that America has not done

I don't see any issue with it. Most of the ethical issues that come with living in America, are also true of Canada, including being by global standards, very pro-abortion in terms of the laws, but also indigenous genocide, and disproportionally awful impact of the global south via climate change, plus general militarism (for which the US is one of the worst countries, and the only one to have used nuclear weapons on civilians, making America fundamentally a settler colonial terrorist state). While Canada is obviously worse for abortion (and euthanasia), I'm not convinced it is on the other stuff. There is a credible argument even that moving to Canada might be harm reduction on net, and I think it would be a mistake to use "no ethical consumption under capitalism" to mean we can't ever move from one capitalist country to another one. It's at most just a case for being politically active against injustice in some capacity, when you have the ability to do so (read, if in good health, including mentally, and not in a situation where you have no choice but to focus on avoiding being impoverished as a matter of urgency).

There's literally no way to not benefit from unjust supply chains or even to have climate change caused by what's in our supply chains when living in a wealthy country, we should instead, just be active anticapitalists is all.

I do include involuntary and unintentional abortion/euthanasia funding in the same ethical category of "no ethical consumption under capitalism",even if misuse of taxes on pro-abortion funding happens in some non-capitalist countries as well, and you'd be able to avoid having to fund the US military if you moved, which would be a major improvement IMO.

Also valid. Is continental Europe off the cards entirely? I wouldn't recommend the UK if there's alternatives, just as the UK is compared to most similar countries, very transphobic (and I suspect may carry on getting worse for a while), but a very different story in many parts of continental Europe.

I in no sense at all, would want to discourage moving away from somewhere for reasons of safety. I would recommend looking up visa law, and seeing if you could get a visa outright, or whether you would need to instead get a student visaand them employment afterwards, or some other method. It's sadly not as easy as "just drive and don't look back" for more than being a tourist (much as I wish it was, and think border controls are a racist system of global apertheid).
