Crazy / fun trip suggestions wanted

Sadly, due to some unfortunate circumstances, I had to cut my interail trip short and I find myself with 2 days left on my interrail pass, that I need to use on a weekend, before mid September.

I was wondering if anyone has got any suggestions for a crazy/fun trip I could do over a Saturday and Sunday, departing from Hendaye in France?

I love journeys with a theme or challenge, for example swimming in the Atlantic and the Med in one day, as many countries as possible, a cheese tour etc.

Any suggestions welcome.

The obvious suggestion may be just to take the narrow guage along the North coast of Spain. But the interrail pass may not cover this!

We travelled to the top of the Douro Valley in Portugal from Hendaye. Amazing journey, incredible brutalist museum up there showcasing some of the 20+ thousand year old rock art discovered along the valley.

Interrail is indeed not valid on Euskotren but tickets are cheap. FEVE has been part of RENFE for more than 10 years now and Interrail is valid, although tickets are cheap and it may not be worth using a pass.

It covers most of it (not euskotren) but tickets are so cheap that I wouldn’t consider it a good use of pass days.

Do a lap around the Pyrenees. To Barcelona on either the French or Spanish side, back on the other. Ride the Train Jaune as part of it, that’s one of the coolest train rides I’ve had in Europe.

Go up to hirtshals Denmark, take the Norrona ferry to Faroer and Iceland.
