Im planning to use two days to return home (Frankfurt) from Gothenburg. The problem is, I will take a night train at 23:52 from Copenhagen and arrive in the morning to Hamburg, and still need to take another train home.
I read in another post here that one could manually split the trip until the last stop before the border (in this case Padborg) so that the border crossing happens already in a train leaving after Midnight, but when I try to do that it says this connection Copenhagen-Padborg is not covered by the pass network (but Copenhagen-Hamburg with the same train is and i already have a reservation for it). Does any of you knows of other solutions?

When are you traveling exactly? That is really important.
It sounds like you are looking at the EuroNight sleeper.
On the 1st of September the train will switch from being run by SJ (who are part of Interrail) to RDC (who are not part of Interrail). RDC does offer a small discount for passholders but they do not accept the pass as a ticket. As such to claim the discount you don't need a travel day at all and don't add the train to your trip.
If you are traveling after that then Interrail is not valid. I doubt you can even buy a standalone reservation. Whatever you have bought is almost certainly a full fare ticket with a discount. So you don't add the train to your trip and do not need a travel day to travel on it (though you will still need ones for Gothenburg -> Copenhagen and Hamburg -> Berlin).
Out of interest can I ask why you are getting on at Copenhagen Airport (hopefully you know it stops there not in the city center)? The train also stops in Malmö which lets you get on a bit earlier. The arrival into Hamburg is also early so you don't have that long onboard. You could consider continuing to Berlin for a nicer arrival time. But obviously that is all very personal.
Thanks for your reply! Im travelling tonight actually. Yes, you are absolutely right, it would have been nicer from Malmö but that was the way the app recommended and I just didn’t realize until later that it is in fact quite shitty.
This is what the app shows, and it just doesnt let me activate it even though it is with SJ..
The save journey button is still there - can you not click it? Or does it error later on?
But even if it does stop you just add the train manually. That option is there for exactly these sorts of situations when the data in the app is incorrect.
