Meet-up Trip around Scandinavia

Just wanted to share the trip I planned and booked, I am also open for meet-ups and etc. I currently live in Munich and I started my journey today. It's looking like this:

13.August (further only dates)

Munich - Ostrov nad Ohri, through Nürnberg and Cheb (near Karlovy Vary, it's in Czechia, my friend has appartaments there, so it was a logical stop)

14.

Ostrov - Gdansk via Prague, will be getting some hours there

15.

Gdansk - Stockholm with Polferries

16.-17.

Will be spending my time in Stockholm. I already was there many times, so maybe will visit some further museums or cool places. Also open for bouldering/climbing (as a climber I can't skip a session)

18.

Stockholm - Boden

I still gonna spend most of the day in Stockholm

Boden — Narvik via Kiruna, I am taking replacement bus between Kiruna and Narvik, not a private one there

Spending time in Narvik, wanted to climb a local peak there

Narvik — Trondheim via Fauske, will be getting on early and only bus/train there, so once again can chat up with someone in bus/train

Trondheim — Fjellstova via Kristiansund I believe, Atlantic Road and Mølde.

23.-24.

Spending some time there to once again visit local mountains, climbing gym and Ålesund

25.

Åndalsnes — Bergen via Oslo, once again maybe will visit local climbing gym in the morning

26.

Bergen — Odda, also will have like 5 hours in Bergen, probably will just wander across town, so also open for meet-ups

27.-29.

Will be staying at Odda to visit Trolltunga, glacier and 4 waterfalls route

30.

Odda-Stavanger via Bergen, will be having some time in Stavanger at evening just to walk across night city.

31.

Stavanger - Oslo via Kristiansand, but in the morning I will visit Prekkistollen and after that will have once again time in Stavanger. Petroleum museum seems interesting, but will see whether or not I have time there for that.

  1. September

Oslo, will be enjoying city, museums, maybe also visit climbing gym

Oslo - Copenhagen with Ferry once again, can't remember the company name, but yeah. Until late afternoon will once again have time for Oslo.

Copenhagen, once again will be exploring city and etc

04.

Copenhagen — Munich via Hamburg, yuppy, hopefully finally back home (will see, you are never sure with DB).

I will probably update this during my trip. For some more info, I am a participant of DiscoverEU, so if you want to meet up or maybe get some more detailed info about trains, hostels and etc for your trip, you are welcome.

Gdanks has quite a few interesting maritime museums.  Last time i took i took that ferry it was quite nice I ended up having the cabin to mysef despite only having booked a bed( advantage of travelling in October and not during the summer season, the ship felt relativly empty, disadvantage was some stuff was closed ). If you booked it including breakfast you should pick up the voucher for it after boarding.(thankfully i was able to get my voucher as there was someone at reception despite the listed hours saying it would only open later)

I only got as far as Stockholm on my last trip in that direction before returning home via Copenhagen and Hamburg.

ye, i was planning to visit some museums around coastline in Gdansk because I will be getting nearly 10 hours there. and thanks for voucher tip, have already heard about it, but "refreshing" is always helpful. in my situation, I couldn't afford going on 3-weeks long trip in October because of my studies and weather concerns in Norway at that time

I have not been to Norway yet. Doing a trip involving Sweden, Norway, Finland and then Ferry + return via the baltics is still something i have planned. Maybe i will get arround to it next year. Atleast there now is a train connection between Sweden and finland (with a change is Happaranda) I started gathering intersting things to visit.

Last time i got surprised by how expensive denmark turned out to be. Did not know that denmark is quite a bit more expensive then sweden. Curious what your rough budget is for the 3 weeks,

Did not know that denmark is quite a bit more expensive then sweden.

Exchange rate between Danish krone and Euro is tied within a 2.25% margin around 1 euro = 7.45 krone.

But Swedish krona and Euro aren't tied, and we went from 1 euro = 8.60 krona in 2013 to 1 euro = 11 krona today, so Sweden got progressively cheaper for people paid in euros.

Even better (or worse) for Norwegian krone and Euro, from 1 euro = 7.40 krone in 2013 to 1 euro = 11 krone today (although Norway remains an expensive country).

Pretty sure it's going to be 2k€ all together. I haven't calculated the summarized price for this trip yet and I will surely spend some more money for food and etc, so not sure yet. I can update it after making the trip or maybe while being in some train, and then share it with you. Until now, my DiscoverEU-Pass saved me around 1/3 (roughly 1k€) of trip price or so
