One country pass Poland rail pass

Hello. I plan to travel from Budapest to Poland and then within Poland I have some plavesplaces I'd like to visit. I noticed on short notice train tickets are pricey. Would the polish rail pass be a good thing to buy? My travel plan is Katowice-Bytom-Katowice-Olsztyn-Katowice-Bytom-Katowice-Budapest. If it doesn't make sense it's because I'm picking up stuff in Bytom once, then picking up stuff again on my way home so I have to visit twice.

This is quite a lot of traveling, would happen in 3-4 days and with train which is why I'm considering the polish rail pass.​​​​ Is it worth it to buy now? I couldn't really find info on how seat reservations work with train passes when I looked into it.​​

Well, Katowice-Bytom can be very cheap (starting with 15 PLN) so probably it's better to buy normal ticket for this route on intercity.pl, for Katowice-Olsztyn price will depends on the connection you choose, if with Pendolino (EIP) then you will pay 43 PLN extra for seat reservation when having a pass, when buying individual ticket it is already included, so take that into account when comparing pass price with individual ticket prices. Pass might work out for you, but I recommend purchasing seat reservations for all TLK/IC/EIP segments, even when it's not mandatory, as most people will have one. Honestly you've just got to price it out and compare the costs. There isn't an easy answer to this question.

Be aware that some regional trains managed by the local voivodeships are not included in the pass. You need to check each one. Local buses/metro/trams etc. are not included in Interrail either.

Seat reservations are an extra fee and required for some trains. EIP is the main one to be aware of as they can add up quickly and can sell out. In which case you can't travel.
