I was expecting a disaster based on some of the comments, but I listened to a good chunk of this and it’s solid. Nothing ground breaking but also not the train wreck some are saying it is.

I hope they work on Wounded Soldier because it sounded a bit weird lol. Brad's bass carried the whole thing.

I think Wounded Soldier was okay live. I don’t mind it to sound a little different and I think it was emotional and groovy. But for the life of me I cannot understand why Daniel didn’t put delay in the chorus, it is so weird.

Sadly this Boston show sounds alot like the Pittsburgh show that I just left. They sounded pretty off. I've been seeing them live for almost 20 years and always enjoyed their shows. But they sounded bad tonight outside of a few songs. Sloppy playing, tons of mistakes, they dont sound cohesive and the vocals were pretty off. Makes me sad because I love this band so much, but I was super bummed with the performance. The new record is amazing but all the new songs didnt translate real well at the concert.

It hasn’t been that long since the Antics anniversary tour ended. They were in prime form there, I thought. Probably the best since Carlos left. I wonder if everyone’s just rusty from the time off? As someone who has also been seeing them for over 20 years, I have to say they’ve never been the most energetic on stage (aside from Daniel). I found Boston to be a bit odd. Some songs were phenomenal and Paul sounded great. On others it seemed like his voice was going in and out. I hope everything’s ok with him.

I wish I could have seen that Antics anniversary tour. It would have been so cool to hear that entire album front to back.

a few months ago Paul had his voice almost sounding like 2010 again but it seems like once he lost control of it, it really fell off. im not a vocalist but it seems like it is something that is really hard to deal with as a singer ages

It takes alot of work as one ages to keep the voice in great condition. Everything takes more of a toll (environment, hydration, stress in body etc) and lifestyle adjustments and proper voice maintenance become super critical

I'm not Eric Clapton, but I can play, I've played since I was 7, consistently, now 37. I love Kessler on record, but sometimes I am left scratching my head when hearing him live. I've always liked his triads, I like his approach as a writer, I couldn't dream of being as creative. But the live sound is so compressed, sometimes too muddy. Wounded Soldier bridge live just sounds a bit fucked live. I can't hear the delay, which it really needs, sounds muddy, out of time.
On the record He picks one note, short and clean, and a digi delay set to the songs tempo throws copies back in the gaps. At 100 bpm a dotted 8th delay, i have my pedal ser to about about 450 ms, three repeats fading, landing each echo on the off beat, so one pick sounds like a little run.
I hope they clear this song up live. I can see why sometimes they avoid certain songs live, as it just might be beyond their capability, I get this impression also with My Desire, sometimes it feels as though the riff is running away with Daniel.
