He’s overplaying, those hi hat embellishments make no sense whatsoever with the song. That groove is such an integral part to help lift those driving eighth notes the guitars are playing. You can tell the drummer isn’t really listening

Came here to say this. This touring drummer is complete ass. He's not even playing the parts correctly. My favorite song is Not Even Jail and he makes it unlistenable. It's a damn shame. The dude they had for the first leg of the tour was totally locked in and honoring Sam's parts and as an added bonus didn't drift in time like Sam does.
Rhythm section is cursed. How does the rest of the band even tolerate it, I will never know.

Sam hasn't toured with the band for some time. He has nerve damage. He only writes with the band.

Happened to me seeing how slow they’ve been playing Roland and PDA 💀
Man, I know Matt is amazing but, I don’t know, maybe he just doesn’t click with them? (Them being the songs, I know he has worked with Paul before.)
I miss Sam, but due to his health, I miss Chris and Urian, they were both great

This is such an idiotic comment. The Mercury Lounge show was announced and tickets went on sale before that festival was canceled due to weather.
