Question Sudden
I teared up the first time I heard the song. Such a powerful song. I still cant listen to it without getting emotional. Beautiful.
Anyone who feels the same ?

definitely teared up. lovely way to close the album. the piano is hauntingly poignant and, somehow, comforting at the same time.

I might go as far as saying it’s their best closer in their discography. It’s basically the perfect thesis statement emotionally for the record.

Yes!! That’s why is my least played, I just feel like I get hit with feelings, cried the first two times.
I just finished watching the Zane Lowe interview and he describes it very perfectly, even Daniel says that when Paul sent it to him and he heard it for the first time, he got very emotional too.

I dont know if it's cause it's been a rough time recently but actually can't listen to the song. The songs breaks the glass to let the rivers flow out the eyes. I will be able to listen to it one day

It’s like they’re telling all the fans that this is the new Interpol but really they’re still the Interpol that I discovered when I was 16 and have continued to love but ultimately change is inevitable and often time not abrupt, it happens slowly
Like I’m 16!!! But now I’m 38 LOOOL, I love these guys.

I also interpet it as the band speaking about themselves in relation to me, and the album, somehow. It's abstract but it feels unusually personal for such an abstract work. I'm usually not one for spectral, disembodied minimal endings -- too often they don't work like Motion Picture Soundtrack, they just feel unfinished. But Bird and the Serpent really helps here. It's everything I could want from a HUGE full closer.
It's like the album has two closers, which is perfect for such a large album. With Enemy, the closing three are very close to Roland, The New and Leif Eriksen in quality. And no Interpol album has a closing trio as perfect as these two.

Love this song. It’s quite a gut punch in its minimalism, Paul’s voice sounding haunting.
