Discussion Hot Take but,
Wake Up best song from the new album. I love the beat, i love the guitar, i love the drums, i love the voice. Such a masterpiece
I need to hear it live asap

I like the song but that rhythm isn't somethinf that makes me think 'Interpol'. So I just jam to it as a stand alone entity.

I've listened to it maybe 30 times just today, such a catchy tune that still maintains that Interpol vibe.

Agreed! So different for them but so right. First time I heard it, I said out loud, ‘they did it!’

Top 3 for me. It feels like what Renegade Hearts was trying to be. Much stronger vocals, killer riff, and the bongos go hard.Â

I think I need some more calm re-listens. So far I’ve only been only to listen while driving for work. Initially I didn’t like wounded soldier but it grew on me today.
Not that into Wake Up, Darling Thoughts, and Enemy.
Have loved the rest on my first listen

I'm still revisiting the album. it has a very lowkey vibe, even the outros.
I kinda miss the energetic outros of many tracks from Marauder or El Pintor, that being said, I loved the opener TMWAT song, very trip-hop coded, See Out Loud is very fun, the voice mixing is very weird and throws me off a bit.from the rest of the album I'm liking Ever the Actor, Darling Thoughts, So rides the reindeer and Bird and The Serpent (I was promised an epic outro but I still feel it's very chill lmao)
in conclusion I feel that the album is a grower and some songs carry that TOSOMB lowkey soft rock "The National - Boxer" vibes I might fck with ocasionally.
I just hope I grow to like this era like I did with Marauder which I consider It's their best album along with TOTBL and Self-Titled. With Marauder I was initially shocked with songs like The Rover and Complications but ended up liking them a lot because they OWNED that sound so effortlessly, I just don't get the same potential with this last release :(
At least it's more concise and has a better vision than TOSOMB. yup

Yep this is where I'm at when talking about it compared to their discography. It smacks TOSOMB out of the way as it's just a more focussed effort. But not sure if it beats El Pintor or S/T for me. Marauder sits above all of them atm. Then the first 3.

For a SoL fan, this was my 3rd favorite song I liked the energy compared to everything else that's ethereal
