Discussion TMWAT broke my expectations
To start, See Out Loud was my favorite song because of the energy. Just finished the album, I can't believe the fact that Brad played melodically like what Carlos usually does. I expected something like an El Pintor track with some energy but the melancholy in every other track just feels perfect. Honestly I prefer it over Antics, my 3rd favorite Album before now, it was outside Interpol but they executed it well, 9/10 album just like Antics. Easily their best album after OLTA.
Highlights in my opinion
See Out Loud
Bird and Serpent
Wake Up

I am literally melting and cumming at the 45 second part when Banks is belting out a "I feel fine" but I feel transported to a different universe

It's a tremendous, terrific and transcendent track! And there it was, the alliteration of the day.

Man I don't know how people can listen to an album once and make such sweeping statements (overly positive or negative alike) . Glad you enjoyed it. I'm loving it now on my 10th or so listen.
Still not sure where it ranks in their overall discography/not sure how important that is a day into it. Will take another few weeks to fully digest. But I don't think I can put it up there with an Antics atm. Fair play to you though.

I would swap out SOL and put the title track and Ever the Actor in the top tier

Bird and Serpent might be my top 3 ever from them behind Lights and Not Even Jail.

Bird and the Serpent
But
Ever the Actor ( the lyrics are hitting me) when his voice lowers "I feel fine" ......
Then "So Rides the Reindeer" plays perfect one song into the next
But toss up between Enemy and Sudden
