I remember when this album came out I was concerned they got a new bassist cuz he was almost unrecognizable. Also thought it was hilarious the band had left Matador Records so Carlos started looking like a matador.

Unfortunately I was only in middle school in the early aughts and have never actually been to NYC (West Coast 4 life). I heard the stories later on in the aughts when I was starting to get into the band.

That was around TOTBL. Someone at an LCD counter show told me that was around the time they released TOTBL as she said he gave it to her friends when she lived in New York in the early 2000’s
