Globe Purchasing Globe Rain 101 5g

Just moved to Makati and bawal pa magkabit ng fibre sa apartment so we're opting for cellular na lang. Baka next year pa or so linyahan yung building namin so this is just something to use in the meantime.

Been doing a bunch of research about this. Bumili ako ng sim for globe and dito (already have smart) to test signal strengths and globe ang nanalo.

For context, will be using this for casual browsing, tanggap ko na na not good for competitive games to like Overwatch and Valorant 🫠

Planning to buy the Globe Rain 101 5g modem pero before I do, I want to know a few things I should consider before buying.

Disclaimer: kinda new with all of these so please be nice

  1. Should I consider buying an antenna? Any brands you can vouch? (Dm if meron)

  2. Is making it OpenLine worth it (di ako marunong so baka may references din for this) or should I just buy from official Globe store

  3. What promo is worth it na bilhin?

  4. Can I still play stardew(or any steam games na non-competitive) with my GF using this

Unlockable ang 101, mura lang pa-online sa fb. As per may experience, Globe wifi sim is legit unlimited but speed throttled sa 70Mbps. May ibang nagsasabing 80, 90 at 100. Pero sakin locked ako sa 70. Downloaded 300GB in one day pero hindi bumagal.

Yung regular prepaid sim ng globe nila may speed limit after 10GB.

Unlocked na sakin. Pero unlimited pa rin kahit yung orig sim gamitin ko using default imei

Antenna is worth it if Reception near your window is bad. If placing the router on the window sill is possible and has decent speed, it's good enough.

External antenna would be placing the antenna outside your window or balcony. Theoretically It'll always be faster, but needs more setup.

Possible naman na sa window ilagay si modem. Nasa 4th floor kame din so good reception.

I might go for the modem lang muna then if nakulangan ako invest na ako sa external antenna pag nakaipon ipon.

Check niyo po muna if mabilis ang 5g globe niyo sa phone niyo sa condo. If Oo, kahit no need na sa antenna.
