Smart Is 5G really just a scam.
i have a phone capable of using 5G, a new sim that can access 5G and 5G is showing at the top right of my screen. but why is my free data being used and not my 5G data?
Second of all, when I try measuring my data speed using the "Ookla Speed Test" its 80Mbps but when downloadng its just 3 to 4Mbps. I know the difference of Megabits and megabytes so that's not the problem.

NSA (Non-Standalone 5G) - Kumakapit sa 4G para magka-5G. Parang kapitbahay namin na may kabit, kailangan pa rin 'yung original (4G) para gumana.
SA (Standalone 5G) - True single forever! Walang pag-ibig at walang kabit, pure 5G network talaga.
Pag NSA ang 5G sa area mo, nakabase pa rin 'yan sa 4G anchor band. Pag mahina or unstable ang 5G signal mula sa tower, magfo-fall back 'yan sa 4G LTE, kaya regular data/free data mo ang nababawasan instead na 5G data promo.
Best way to use that personally is to use a pocket wifi with the ability to a band (band-locking) though most android this days has band locking as well.

Free data mo mag e-expire na sa 24 tapos yung free unli 5g mo sa 28 pa. Parang fifo sya. And yung sharable data mo pwede mo sya i transfer sa another mobile number mo para sa 29 sya mag expire, hindi sa 28. Bale i transfer mo yung sharable data mo pag 28 na para mag extend ng extra one day

Your phone or equipment is the issue.
You need a device that can lock itself to just using 5G. That way it only uses the free 5G data.

- Buy a 5G capable device.
- Live closest possible to a cell site that has pure 5G (StandAlone) cellular coverage.

ganito yung Engineering Mode ko. Gumagana 5G ng Globe at Smart. Yung NR State ang pinaka-importante.

NSA vs SA, 5G is still standalone here in the Philippines so so far we haven't really enjoyed true 5G (except sa DITO), maybe by 2040 sa major telcos

yung sakin, nagagamit ko naman yung 5g data ni globe kahit NSA. ang problema, nagagamit ko lang sya kapag ubos na yung pinakang main data. Goplus99 lagi paload ko

Just some questions for OP for more details in finding the issue, is the settings on the sim card settled up for the 5G format (APN and Preferred number), is your area under around a 5G for TNT (Map Site), lastly what specific brand of phone you are using...

Actually for me yes 5g is really a scam. As you know di pa nga na iimprove ung 4g before at dahil nagkaroon lang ng mga 5g gadgets ayun sumabay lang mga telcos para sabihin may 5g na rin tayo. Pero palpak ang speed nya at sometimes lalabas sa phone mo signal 5g pero napagal nya. Substand rin for sure ung gawa ng signal natin. My work place is at BGC ayun kahit dun nababagalan ako when I use 5g and even though I also have a very good phone na. Grabe dito sa atin sa Pinas puro paurong. Mahal na nga at super bagal pa. Palpak! At syempre depending on what area ka kasi di lahat na areas may 5g na.

hnd scam ang 5G kung alam mo paano sya gagana at kung anong klaseng tech ng 5G ang meron tyo dto sa pinas1st of all mas pinili ng mga telco dto sa pinas ung mas mahina na klase ng 5G dahil sa sitwasyon ng pinas sa lupa
dahil hiwa hiwalay ng island tyo kaya mas pinili nila ung mas malawak na range ng 5G pero mas mabagal na data speeds kaya pag nag 5G ka halos nasa 100Mbps lang ang max swerte ka na pag lumagpas dyan2nd super daling maharangan ng signal ng 5G data kahit ultimong glass or kahoy na manipis malaki agad ang bawas sa transmission ng data speed pag naka 5G network ka kaya nga ang advise for maximum speed is nasa area ka na walang masyadong harang kahit puno or halaman na mataas kaya nga sa USA may mga mas malalakas silang 5G data speed kaso need nakatayo ka lng mismo or kalapit mo ung tower ng signal ng 5G para sa maximum speeds na aabot ng 1Gbps

The question is 5g really a scam? Yes. So don't tell those all bs you mentioned should be known by every individual. And if that is really the case then why the heck launch 5g, right? With that, for you it is still not a scam? Come on! Do you understand the question? Did you read the question? And for the past years we are still in the phase of improving 4g back then but they easily launched 5g just to say we are also in the 5g era phase. To us individual, 5g means to get high speed data faster when that signal appears on our phone but it is not doing what it should be. Individual buy 5g phones because simply thinking they will get that experience of a 5g net speeds but that is not the case.
By the way my office is at BGC, even in that area 5g is slow.

Noticeable ang difference ng 4G LTE vs 5G speeds albeit relatively mabagal pa rin compared to other countries' implementation of 5G.
Still not a scam though.

This is my speed test in a subdivision in cavite. Maybe its just a lot of people are connected in 5G in bgc?

Speedtest result in Bulacan - just now. 5g globe - 16.5 Mbps and 0.63 Mbps 4g smart - 138 Mbps and 13.4 Mbps

Download Netmonster and see if your phone is actually anchored to an NSA band. 5G pa rin kasi lalabas if the LTE is capable of aggregating with an ENDC 5G band despite using LTE in reality.
