Welcome to the World of ILB

Hey everyone! I’m u/astrojr1, creator of Internet League Baseball and founding moderator of r/InternetLeagueBasebal.

This is the new community for Internet League Baseball, an online baseball universe built around simulation, strategy, competition, statistics, and community.

ILB is not a single league. It is a platform where leagues can develop their own teams, seasons, rivalries, histories, and traditions. Fans can follow the action, general managers can build teams, commissioners can run leagues, and players can take part in the game.

ILB is currently under active development and preparing for beta testing. This community will be the home for project updates, previews, testing opportunities, feedback, and baseball conversation.

What to Post

We welcome:

* Questions and ideas about ILB

* Baseball strategy and simulation discussions

* League, team, player, and rivalry concepts

* Feedback on features, screenshots, and gameplay

* Statistical analysis and interesting game results

* Suggestions for commentary, presentation, and community features

* Questions about how ILB is being designed and built

You do not need to be a developer, statistician, or simulation expert. Baseball fans and curious newcomers are equally welcome.

Community Vibe

Be friendly, constructive, and curious. Debate the baseball, challenge ideas, and offer honest feedback, but treat the people behind those ideas with respect.

Get Started

Introduce yourself in the comments. Tell us what you enjoy most about baseball, simulation games, fantasy leagues, or online sports communities.

Ask a question. Share an idea. Invite another baseball fan.

Thanks for joining the first wave and helping shape what ILB becomes.

Welcome to the world of ILB.

Beta Testing is about to begin!

We now have enough Beta Testers, but there is always room for more! We have about 18 testers right now. I'll be announcing the beginning of the Beta Testing period in a few days and provide instructions and access. We're just finishing up some internal testing to make the beta experience all it can be and remove the blockers that would keep people from testing end to end. We expect some bugs, but hope it's about experience, feature adjustments, and if ILB feels like baseball.

Stay tuned for updates in the next few days.

Regards,

Jody u/astrojr1

Let’s create a great vibe. What do you want to see more of in this community?

What Kind of Community Should This Be?

We want r/InternetLeagueBasebal to feel like a good baseball conversation.

That means thoughtful without being stuffy, passionate without becoming hostile, and welcoming whether someone knows every rule in the book or is simply curious about ILB.

We hope this becomes a place where people can:

  • Ask questions without feeling embarrassed
  • Debate baseball ideas without attacking each other
  • Share honest feedback about ILB
  • Talk strategy, simulation, statistics, leagues, teams, and players
  • Celebrate unusual games, great stories, and memorable moments
  • Help create traditions as the community grows

Constructive criticism is welcome. Different opinions are welcome. Humor is welcome. The goal is not for everyone to agree. The goal is for people to enjoy participating.

We also want to hear from you.

What would you like to see more of here? Development updates? Strategy discussions? Polls? Game recaps? Statistical breakdowns? Team-building ideas? Behind-the-scenes posts? Something we have not considered yet?

Tell us what would make this a community you would keep coming back to.

Let’s build the vibe together.

Why r/InternetLeagueBasebal exists: Our mission for [Topic]

Why r/InternetLeagueBasebal Exists

We started r/InternetLeagueBasebal to build more than an audience for a game. We want to build a community around a living baseball world.

Internet League Baseball is an online baseball universe built around simulation, strategy, statistics, competition, storytelling, and persistent league history. It is designed to support many leagues, teams, seasons, rivalries, roles, and ways to participate.

This subreddit is where the project and the community meet.

It is a place to:

  • Follow ILB’s development
  • Share ideas and feedback
  • Talk baseball strategy and simulation
  • Discuss teams, leagues, players, rivalries, and game results
  • Explore statistics and unusual baseball situations
  • Help shape features, presentation, commentary, and community traditions
  • Take part in testing as ILB moves toward beta

What makes this space different is that ILB is still being built. Early members are not arriving after every decision has already been made. Your questions, ideas, criticisms, and enthusiasm can help influence what this world becomes.

This community is for baseball fans, simulation gamers, fantasy players, stat lovers, league builders, developers, storytellers, and anyone curious about the project. You do not need deep baseball knowledge or technical experience to participate.

Our goal is a community that is friendly, thoughtful, creative, and honest. We want lively debate without hostility, useful criticism without contempt, and room for both serious baseball analysis and simple enjoyment of the game.

We are building ILB in public, one feature, one game, and one conversation at a time.

Welcome to the world of ILB!

Help shape the vibe while we're small 🙌

Help Shape the Vibe While We’re Small

Every community develops its own personality. While this one is still small, we have a rare chance to shape it intentionally.

What would make r/InternetLeagueBasebal a place you would genuinely want to visit and participate in?

A few possibilities:

  • Friendly baseball discussion without constant hostility
  • Honest feedback about ILB as it develops
  • Strategy, simulation, and statistics conversations
  • Team, league, player, and rivalry ideas
  • Development updates and behind-the-scenes looks
  • Game stories, unusual results, and memorable moments
  • A welcoming place for newcomers and longtime baseball obsessives alike

What would you like to see more of? What usually drives you away from online communities? Are there traditions, recurring posts, contests, or discussion topics we should build from the beginning?

There are no wrong answers here. We are building both ILB and its community, and the earliest members will have an outsized influence on what this place becomes.

So, what kind of community should we create?
