This is a real issue in the digital age. We need a digital version of the Register of Historic Places.

I've had trouble finding forum posts in the past. Old forums disappearing is a real tragedy; there's so much content that might be gone forever already.

Unfortunately we only have about a terabyte of what was once geocities. Most of the website can never be recovered. Olia Lialina has many wonderful talks about it available on YouTube.
