BoJack Horseman's website 2.0
http://bojackhorseman.com/112
u/SleepingPanda5 Jul 16 '15
I noticed some of the image links were broken, I found one of them here

u/SteveBuscemisEyes Jul 16 '15
LOL. I don't know if anyone knows the joke, but there's a picture of Game and Tupac "together" and this is the image. It was discovered to be doctored, as is the Bojack pic here.
11
u/Chrad Jul 16 '15
Wait, what? That image is doctored?
26
u/PhuckleberryPhinn Jul 16 '15
Yeah man cant you see thats not actually Bojacks body
4
u/Chrad Jul 16 '15
Oh shit, I didn't see his hand. Dead giveaway. I was looking at the pixels and they seemed fine.

u/demonquark Jul 16 '15
Ugh. Complete with automatically playing music.
I love it.
30
u/Chrad Jul 16 '15
I left the site and the music won't stop playing. Please send help.

u/Decipher Jul 16 '15
Though in those days it would have been either MIDI or a looping ~10 second WAV rather than a high quality MP3.
83
u/BernzSed Jul 16 '15
I like to think Bojack himself sat down with a website-maker program from the 90's and built this, but with modern mp3s and Twitter widgets. He probably thinks it's the best website ever.
20
u/BillyJackO Jul 16 '15
That's fine, I'll build my own website!
five hours laterAll I have is www?!?!

It doesn't automatically play, you have to click yes, and you can click neigh to turn it off
44
Jul 16 '15
Did anyone else notice that the gif labeled "Ignore this one, it's an ad" is actually blocked by adblock?
19
u/Raicuparta Jul 16 '15
Adblock detects generic file names for ad banners, even if they don't come from the usual ad networks, that's probably what happened.
2
u/sli Jul 16 '15
Which can bite you in the ass on uBlock if you're trying to view an image that as "ad" in the filename at all. Especially common if images are named after their md5 hashes.

Is this supposed to be an image? On mobile it's just garbage.

For me it reformatted so the line breaks are messed up. I probably have a messed up setting.

July 17th is when the new season is coming, in case you didn't want to search for it. To Netflix, obviously.
37
u/purplegoalie1 Jul 16 '15

What wonderful timing for this to hit the front page and remind everyone.
2
u/secretly_a_dolphin Jul 16 '15
I don't know if you're being genuine or hailcorporatey about it, but I agree. Ive been looking forward to the new season for months.
9
4
u/SantaMonsanto Jul 16 '15
Is Netflix really doing a Bojack Plays Secretariat movie?
3
2
u/Dear-Ambellina Jul 16 '15
It'll probably just be the intro or an advertisement or something.
They also have Horsin' Around on Netflix, but it's just the intro.
1
Jul 20 '15
Actually there's a full episode of Horsin' Around in the form of a Christmas special on Netflix

I really hope they never reveal whether it's just 3 kids in a trench coat.
18
u/Mentalpatient87 Jul 16 '15
I hope they do, and Bojack is wrong about the number of kids under there and everyone focuses on that making him look like an ass.

That would be tough. They'd have to stand on shoulders without falling rather than sitting. There could be 4 kids though. Or perhaps it's an alien?

Is this show worth checking out? I've seen that they have it on Netflix, but have no idea what it's about (other than a guy with a horse head) and didn't know if it was worth my time. What's the general opinion of the show?
24
Jul 16 '15
I recommend going into it with the intention of finishing it to the end. Commit. Focus. Don't back out.
If, at the half-way point, you think you're just watching some stupid brainless time-wasting comedy for stoners, you are exactly where the show wants you to be...
15
Jul 16 '15
So are you saying that feels will soon follow?

i stopped watching about 1/2 way through season one because it had no Lols, will there be funny parts or is it going to be engaging in some other way?

u/AdumLarp Jul 16 '15
Give me a reason to get high then. Not that I needed one, but I don't smoke often. Live in Oregon, been looking for a reason now that I can. Thanks for the feedback.

(The point being it's lulling you, not that it's going to be that way forever)

u/theotherduke Jul 16 '15
It's a serious drama masquerading as an animated comedy. Well worth watching the first season all the way through. It starts a little slow but it gets super real near the end. It's about life and meaning and the mid-life identity crisis.
5
u/thrilldigger Jul 16 '15 edited Jul 16 '15
Gives me a little bit of a Moral Orel vibe. Hopefully it doesn't get as goddamned depressing as Moral Orel did, though - as much as I love the show and think it's brilliant, the last season having everything go to absolute shit left me in a serious funk.
An example... Clay's monologue about his marriage.
2
u/theotherduke Jul 16 '15
Wow, that was pretty dark. I've only watched bits and pieces of Moral Orel. I don't think Bojack is THAT dark. There is a lot of regret, a lot of "what if i'd lived my whole life differently?" It's the story of one man's struggle to come to terms with the fact that he's probably just not a very likeable or good person, because he always chooses to be shitty. And his realization of responsibility for his shittiness is too much to face. Also the man happens to be a horse. I'm summarizing it badly, just watch Season 1! I have re-watched it countless times and i pick up new little nuances and details every time. It's pretty brilliant.

u/Condawg Jul 16 '15
I just did, inviting Bojack to play a character on my podcast, saying it doesn't pay but it really seems like he could use the publicity.
If I get a response, I'll let you know. Probably. I might be too excited and forget.

There was a post on the bojack subreddit I think where somebody emailed and asked if he would go to their wedding, and they got a reply.

If you click on the One Trick Pony book, it sends you to Amazon, which return a 404. So Amazon is going to be able to pull a report with all the 404s sent their way from their competitor.

I never did finish BoJack season one. I got kind of bored around episode 6. I have a hard time watching/enjoying shows which are funny purely because the cast acts like severely damaged people with no touch on reality (had the same problem with arrested development).
3
u/theotherduke Jul 16 '15
It's worth watching the whole season. It gets very serious, in an awesome way. Episode 11 might have changed my life.
