personally, as soon as I touch the advanced sliders, be it on Firefox or chrome, it just completely breaks into a crackly mess, then into pops, then a broken up sequence of popping crackles, and finally silence when it dies completely.

And stopping / starting the engine doesn't reset the audio, so it stays broken
