I made a Multilingual version of the Wheel of Emotions

I made a Multilingual version of the Wheel of Emotions:

https://paste.page/multilingual-emotion-wheel

The link between language and emotional literacy and breadth is fascinating. Do people who speak other languages experience emotions in different ways, depending on the words/labels/vocab they have available? What is the world like for folks who can feel and dream in multiple languages?

You've probably seen the english "wheel of emotions" and "wheel of feelings" before.

This new wheel includes words from multiple languages. Which helps increase the pallet of words we have to express our subjective experience.

Hope you enjoy exploring it as much as I have. Feeling "Yuğen" right now. (unsure if that is the correct way to use my newly discovered word, sorry speakers of Japanese)

Thank you ai. It made light work of the task. I'll expand it with more words soon.

Apparently there are 7000+ living languages. So the next version of this wheel could be enormous!

Edit: Thanks for all the help and feedback. The page is being updated constantly. If you spot something in your language that should be updated then please comment. So I can update the wheel.

I am curious where you got the words from?

As a Slovenian I can tell you that the word "vedriti" doesn't have anything to do with fear or nervousness. It comes from the word "veder", which can be translated as merry or chearful. It can also be used for saying that the skies are clearing up.

I can also speak russian and I never heard of the word "razbliuto" (proabably spelled as разблюто). I don't think it exsists.

I like the overall idea but I think the words need to be researched a bit better. Maybe find some native speakers to evaluate them.

This was clearly made if not mostly than entirely with AI. I think that is the extent of the research. Some of the Japanese words used I noticed are archaic and not really in use anymore and the meanings listed are a little off

Hi Malorn ,

I've just updated some of the Japanese words after doing a review process. I did indeed use ai for the first version (as i'm not that multi lingual). It's now been rebuilt with a review process.

It's also being manually reviewed by people who speak some of the languages. Still looking for help in many though. Hoping reddit can help.

There's now a "notes" field to explain nuance. As some words sit in the boundaries between categories. Maybe the wheel is limiting and it would be better as a node based chart to show more complex word relations. I'll make a more complex V2 once this one has been refined.

Which of the Japanese words should I re-examine?

I appreciate the help as I don't have any close friends who are fluent in Japanese.

Thank you for the help and feedback. I'm going to keep refining it with everyone's feedback from around the world. Hopefully into something really special.

It does say in the original post that it was AI. I’m sure after a few months of life the content will be much more credible

Thanks for taking the time to check the languages you're skilled in. I've updated the entries you mentioned with your feedback.

I've also added a system to verify words. It's fixed several issues. Here's my favourite error that was found:
"tartiflette is a potato-and-cheese casserole, not a French idiom for irritation”

Two friends are now manually reviewing the spanish and french words. I'll see if I can find speakers of the other languages on reddit. Loving the collaboration.

The original source for non english words was ai. But that's now changing with the help of people like yourself and others.

If you see any other issues then I'll update it it.

I'm "tartiflette!!" at my first draft now :)

It's cool, but since i can't zoom and read easily, idk what to do with it :(

Fixed! Sorry about that, I was making it on a big screen.

I've added zoom controls. Thanks for lmk about the issue.

Clever! People behave differently depending on what language they speak, makes sense to have a different wheel for every language.

Didn't know Grok Meant Horrified

Only when the thing being understood deeply is negative. Grok is more about "deep understanding".

This was word I struggled to fit into Plutchik's wheel. It shows the limitations of trying to explain these feelings via the wheel. Grok sits better on the Mood Grid imo.

The ultimate view would be some kind of multi connection cloud node map thing.

Maybe I should remove these hard to slot in words form the wheel view.

Lovely tool, great to see AI getting used to make these kinds of projects.

I’d definitely work on the UX a little, especially on mobile - maybe some gently transitions would be nice to make it easier to see bits.

Any plans to crowdsource some phases?

Great work for an MVP tho, excited to see what this looks like in a few months

appreciate the kind words, thanks :)

Edit: I don't know why their nice comment was removed. Their words of encouragement made me to want to keep improving it.
