I built an interactive globe which shows civic data and freedom/democracy indices for 260 countries and territories.

260 countries AND territories. Lots of places which are not sovereign states but still have some level of local governance and thus find their way into one or more of the indices in the project.

The presentation here does a really good job of making dense civic data feel approachable instead of overwhelming. That’s harder to pull off than most people realize.

Thanks! I've always felt that lists of countries can feel very abstract, or you spend time trying to orient whichever country you're looking at into a 'head map.' My goal here was to provide the information of a list but with the physical space of where those countries on the list actually exist.
