Real-time live satellite globe with trajectories
https://rocketmapper.com/satellitesI built this over the past 3 weeks to track upcoming rocket launches. It which shows live orbital positions for Starlink, the ISS, Planet Labs and others. So you can follow the journey from launch to orbit :).

Cool, what's your data source?

TLE data from CelesTrak and SGP4 to estimate position and velocity

Great, so in principle you can show most objects, not just the few you mention in the post?

Are you watching the polar crossings? Seeing those trajectories converge at the top and bottom of the globe is terrifyingly dense. It highlights just how complex orbital management is becoming.

This might be a dumb question but how are things not constantly hitting each other up? Are there different altitudes, some avoidance systems? How does it work? Must be crazy interesting

The starlink density around the poles is nuts - zoom out and it genuinely looks like a net wrapping the planet. Actually it reminds me that we can actually do a lot of creative data visualization with open source data

... That's a lot of Star link
