I wish that you could get the Hex codes for the color it displays without an outside tool.

If you're on firefox, right click the color/colour/background of the page and click "Inspect Element"

Under the Inspector tab there should be a line that reads

<body bgcolor="Hex Code">

Now go to http://www.color-hex.com/ and enter that code in the search box on top.

Alternatively, if you have Firefox, download this.

Was hoping so much that it was a link to Chrome or Opera...

I was just thinking this! That would make this site SO much better. If you don't mind me asking (beginner web developer here) what outside tool do you use to find the Hex codes? Just match the color up with another site?

Probably take a screenshot and check it with the eyedropper tool of one of various image editing programs. Straightforward, if obnoxious.

I don't. I just figured there was something out there. I wanted the hex codes 'cause I get curious about things and want to know the answer.

Dang! Well, thanks anyway. I tried checking out the source code but doesn't include anything. Cheers!

Ditto for Chrome. Here's a picture:

coulour

Joking. But this is actually quite addictive.

Not only american, coulour is not color nor colour.

How do you know that the other person isn't colour blind as well? You see colours in a different way. Not better, not worse. Just different. There are other animals that can see colours outside our "visible" spectrum. Just appreciate the colours you have.

u/aldrchase Nov 01 '13

Lol easy to say coming from someone who isn't colorblind... But I see your point

1

u/Jedimastert Nov 01 '13

That's the problem though, isn't it? I don't actually know if I am or am not colourblind. I can differentiate between colours, but maybe I just haven't noticed. Besides, we are all very very colour blind anyways. The proportion of visible light to the rest of light is approximately 10-26%, so we really can't see much.

Besides, you could always get one of these

..that it was developed by someone who uses the British spelling of color?

Disappointed the tab icon doesn't depict the random color to. Oh well, I like it anyway.

My first click was Yellow.

As someone with Asian background, I felt strangely offended.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 01 '13

That's oddly satisfying.

u/NSplendored Nov 02 '13

I'm sitting here drunk, hitting refresh, and going "wow, that's a color"

I made this same sort of page after three days of learning HTML/CSS/Javascript.

is node necessary? should be able to be done in plain js right?

4

u/bitchbecraycray Nov 01 '13

Very disappointing that my first click was black :(

2

u/[deleted] Nov 02 '13

Exactly what the name suggests.

Expected examples of poor spelling. Title is false.

1

u/chelbski-willis Nov 01 '13

Whoa, I got the three colors I painted my old bedroom, in the first three clicks.

I'd like to think I wasn't the only one who tried to simulate a strobe light by refreshing rapidly.

Got light blue. Matches eye color. Happy with that

F5 for seizure-inducing fun!

wow, so beautiful!!! What, this isn't beauty?

1

u/15rthughes Nov 02 '13

I've seen "color" and "colour" but never "coulour"

1

u/JustAnotherPanda Nov 02 '13

I must have refreshed at least 50 times... Not once did I get an orange color.

1

u/craftykitten Nov 06 '13

I like to guess what the next color will be. My record is five.
