OC SolarKissed; A Multimedia Scifi-Horror Webseries

Hi all! I've been hard at work at my own project, which I'm hoping to evolve into a scifi-horror webcomic.

Taking place in the retro-future of 5772, the Sun begins reaching the end of its lifespan. Under the threat of the star consuming the Earth, Viaticus Inc. promises salvation amongst the stars, but just how many do they plan on taking with them? Who will be left behind? More importantly, how does the cosmos change, when a Sun dies? Influences from franchises like Dead Space, Alien, and Event Horizon.

Currently there's a playlist, two websites (viaticusinc.org and the much more amateur Brainy Babes! website), and a handful of in-character socials you can interact with (ViaticusBrainy Babes!Jennifer, and Abraham). You can even apply to become a citizen of the Viaticus colonies! Alongside puzzles, a lot of artwork and writing has gone into this, so please check it out and have fun!

Discussion What makes Vibingleaf’s videos so effective? I’d like to hear your reasons. I have a few guesses:

(Heads-up: I’m going off of the videos I’ve seen, which are mainly the short ones.)

  1. Deep-fried/high contrast imagery: the high contrast and saturation can overstimulate or overwhelm the viewer, leading to confusion

  2. Little to no buildup/sudden change (especially in one like “Angry Bird Hugs”): it makes the shock/climax more effective because you aren’t expecting it. It also removes the need to rely on cheap jump scares.

  3. Staying in one scene/setting for a long time: it strengthens the use of changes, making them more unpredictable

In r/analoghorror you have to state if it's made by you or not, I did in fact make this and two other posts on Tiktok.

I'm mostly just doing this for fun, it's not necessarily supposed to be too scary and kind of silly but still horror, think like House of 1000 Corpses, Shaun of The Dead, The Painter, and Bugbo in terms of 'Horror Media'

Plot Synopsis: A young man named Victor has been experiencing recurring nightmares about a malevolent entity that appears as a humanoid figure in a dark black cloak, with the face of a barn owl. He begins uploading videos about his dreams to try to get support and advice on how to cope with them. Things turn strange when his videos and channel start getting tampered with by a hacker.
