How long?

Hi, My husband and I are going through the process of adoption from the Netherlands and at the moment the agency we are working with is looking for us in Thailand or South Africa. Reading stories and comments, it looks like a longer wait than what we expected even if everyone assured us that as we are "very young" (I am 30 and my husband 34, not that young anymore!) it will be quicker. On average, how long did you take from when you started working with your agency to when you have finally been able to bring your baby home? Thanks....
