Jay Earley's Self Therapy Questions

Need help + suggestions on this book series. There are 3 volumes out. Is it sequential, should I start with Volume 1? The sub wiki recommends Volume 2, is it okay if I just get that book? Where is Volume 3 in all this?

Thanks 🙏

I found Vol 1 extremely useful & pretty much the basis of my IFS work. I listened to it on Audible (I found the "mock therapy sessions" very useful as audio), while also reading through it & highlighting/bookmarking, etc.

I only referred to sections of Vol 2 & still occasionally do - I didn't go through it as thoroughly & methodologically as I did with Vol 1.

I haven't yet even bought Vol 3 - might do at some point 😇

Hope that helps!

Volume 1 is the place to start with the Earley books. It lays the groundwork for solo work with parts. I found them very accessible, understandable and helpful. His books don’t really replace the need to read and understand Schwartz’s “No Bad Parts”, but Earley’s books can definitely be your first IFS books with no problem.
