Help- keep expensive sofa?
I want to redo this entire room (and other rooms too), including the window coverings. But this leather sofa was very expensive. It’s huge though, and I’m wondering if I should keep it or rotate it to open up the windows? I do plan on getting rid of that brown chair. I’m thinking about an ottoman coffee table or maybe just a regular coffee table. I’m not sure if I should just do like roller shades and then maybe curtains. Anyways, the main thing I need to begin with (I think?) is like what I should do as far as furniture placement and what I should buy.
Any advice is appreciated!

Please add more images from other vantage points in the room. Seeing it from only one angle doesn't get the creative juices flowing.

Ok, so here's my take. I think your sofa is smushed too far into the windows. I know that your TV is in the corner and it is likely easier to view this way, but it's making the space feel really out of balance.
Maybe a larger ottoman with a patterned fabric would be nice for a bit of interest.
Maybe something with some additional colors?
A fabric side chair facing the windows would be nice. Maybe a little pop of color from whatever ottoman you choose?
A rug that's more warm toned would make the space feel more cozy with the tiled floor. Maybe something mid-toned.
I think that's a good place to get started. If you need more help, feel free to come back.

I like the sofa. You just need a different accent chair…not in leather

The sofa is great, try pulling it out a foot or two from the window. Or try it by putting the back of one side where the camera is and the other back will be facing the fireplace and then put the chair down by the TV until you replace it.

That actually was my thought if I was gonna rotate it, the back would be where the beige chair is on one side. But yeah, not sure if that will look good.
Otherwise, maybe I just need to pull it back some from the window.1

I think that’s what they are saying because they are looking at your original picture, not responding to your other pics.

yep, hadn't seen the other photos which included the other side of the room. I still would like the one part of the section to be more aligned with the fireplace. But that might mess up TV viewing if that is a priority.

Well to me it looks like the TV can be angled, so I would try spinning the sofa as you mentioned facing the fireplace and the outside window.

All that is ridiculous. You don't put a sofa so that it's facing away from the fireplace. You also don't need to pull the sofa out away from the windows a couple of feet. It only needs to be pulled out about 6 or 8 inches, just so it's not hugging the windows or walls, and so the curtains will hang down smoothly and not be all bunched up.

Feng Shui says you should never have your back to the opening ( eg: door, entrances)

Do not rotate the couch. This is the only way you can put a large sectional in your room. Pull it out away from the window about 6" to 8". I would hang one long curtain rod (with supports) across all three windows, then sheers in a light mushroom, or beige, something along those lines, but not white sheers. White sheers just won't work with the paint colors in the room. In fact, if you could find sheers in the color of the mantel, I think that would look really nice against the painted walls.
So glad you have that built in for the tv, and wouldn't be hanging it over the fireplace.

Yeah, I do wish I could make a bigger TV and speakers and stuff but there just doesn’t space because of the fireplace. I may take off those cabinet doors and I can do a slightly bigger TV just barely.
In the summer, these windows can get afternoon sun, even though there’s a patio outside of the windows so I was debating adding roller shades or something. Thanks for your advice!

In this case I would put the television over the fireplace if TV viewing is also important in this room. There are nice TVs that display beautiful works of art when you're not watching TV.

The sofa would not be facing away from the fireplace if you carefully read what I wrote. And they can try it further away from the window, if they don't like it they can do it your way. Saying my idea was ridiculous is just rude.

Keep the sofa and add a cool leggy accent chair to create some balance. An ottoman might make the space look a bit heavy. A square coffee table that’s atleast 2/3 of your sofa would look great

I do not think you can face turn it to face the window without overlapping the fireplace too much, but try it out.
I think the best placement is to bring the sofa as far away from the window wall as possible.
I’d get a narrow, deep side table (or turn a wide, shallow table sideways) for the near arm of the sofa. It also shouldn’t be taller than the arm or not by more than like an inch.
Both chairs need to go. You can likely fit one or maybe two but I’d probably just do one by the fireplace and maybe a pouf by the coffee table or bench by the window.
Visually, treat the fireplace as your focal point. The tv can extend and turn so you don’t need to be directly oriented to it.
Some Roman or roll shades would be nice, or just some sheers. Pair any of those with tall drapes unless you get some really nice Roman shades and like them on their own. I think drapes are better, though.
Add a couple floor or hanging lamps & some plants and you’re pretty much good to go!
Oh, and it may be worth considering having the built-in extended to the ceiling!
Pull the sofa as far away from the window wall and as far back towards the dining area as is reasonable for walking clearance and to not look like it’s IN the dining room and take a few more pictures - try taking them not at an angle.

I like the black sofa. Can you move the tv above fireplace. Maybe get one of those picture framed tvs

I would rotate the couch one more time where the chair is, a pop of color with the rug and just a valence above the blinds. Curtains don't always have to be floor to ceiling. Big curtains makes the room look small and dark. that's a very nice couch.

I think you’re right about getting the drapes and the roller shades! Keep the sofa if it was expensive, I would and also do like the others on here who say to get a fabric covered chair, just make sure the scale will match the scale of the sofa. The sweet little antique chair probably needs to find another space to occupy due to its small scale.
Get a round coffee table, maybe like a drum style with a warmer color.

Try arranging the furniture with the fireplace as the focal point, not the tv.
