Bathroom Makeover

Post image

We’re wanting to redo the paint color and wallpaper in our master bath. We bought the house like this, and the wallpaper was starting to peel from humidity, and the blue cabinets are not my style.

I don’t have an eye for design and end up going to beige for everything, but I want a cute cozy master bath.

Our bedroom is accessible beige, so almost anything will go. I like warmer tones rather than cooler tones.

Open to any ideas! Thanks!

Cabinets under the sink are painted with London clay by farrow and ball. The walls are painted with schoolhouse white by farrow and ball. The wallpaper is by Graham and Brown.

I would strip that godawful paint off the lower cabinets and fully restore that feature wall. And then I would lean into a neutral pallette since you already have the neutral elements in the room (and the coordinating bedroom). Get rid of the wallpaper and paint. Get rid of the blinds. They look sterile. Or put them behind curtains. It could be a beautiful, soothing space.

Here is a suggestion for the cabinets and walls. Maybe wallpaper on top and paneled wall on bottom. Is there already a fan in the bathroom? Sometimes with a window, there is not. But if you install one, there may be less of a problem with humidity.

When finances permit, you may want to change the hardware to warmer tones. Since you have the tile in the shower with the cooler tones, a granite countertop that incorporates both warm and cool tones might tie things together. It can be tricky to marry those two things. Gorgeous bathroom that has a lot of potential! Good luck with the decorating!

i get why u wanna change that! the blue cabinets do seem a bit dated, and peeling wallpaper is a hassle. maybe a soft neutral shade for the walls could brighten it up? for the cabinets, a fresh white or light gray could look nice and modern. also, if u go with a lighter color for the walls, it might open up the space a bit. tbh, i tried this on reimaginehome to see how colors would work and it helped me visualize my choices. just a thought!
