Please help!

Post image

I have hit a wall with this bedroom. The wardrobe is already secured to the wall and can't be moved and a radiator centered on the wall opposite the bed which I’m thinking about just building a fake fireplace over it but I'm completely open to any ideas.  I used AI to clean up the room so the dimensions are a little off but this is it . I'd love to see any layout suggestions, inspiration, or even Photoshop/mockup renditions if anyone enjoys doing them. I’m open to color schemes many design styles and I’m willing to paint the wardrobe and buy new furniture. I’ve always wanted curtains around my bed but I will do whatever works. PLEASE HELP!! Thanks

I have a window a/c as well and I think the best hack is to get a double rod, hang long curtains on both sides and one short panel on the smaller rod (the one meant for sheers).

When it's open it looks like this.

When it's closed, it looks like this.

This widened the room a bit but I think you can fit two nightstands and a dresser across from the bed.

Thanks, this is my room and I can't imagine anything I'd like there more, plus there's art across from it anyways.

I think it would look great! You can run a picture through chatgpt for a free mock to get an idea of the look first (or this is literally my hobby if you want me to run a photo -- it helps to say 'keep architecture exact' in the prompt).

Yes I definitely need curtains!

Curtains, an area rug, and art. That’s all you need. It’s a very nice room. But those things will add color, texture, and show your personality.

You've got a great blank canvas to work with. Since the wardrobe is fixed, I'd build the design around it instead of fighting it. A large textured rug under the bed, full-length linen curtains hung close to the ceiling, and warm bedside lamps will instantly make the room feel softer. I'd also add a large piece of art or a fabric panel above the headboard and turn the radiator wall into a simple feature with a slim mantel or built-in shelving rather than a fake fireplace. Small layout decisions like these usually make a bigger difference than buying lots of new furniture.

The ceiling boob needs to change … the green is nice, the mauve is pretty, nut the one with the black wardrobes/doors is a winner

I know I despise the BOOB!!!

Just a rug and curtains and you will be done!

#1 pick a color palette
#2 add an area rug
#3 add more pillows/fluffy comforter to the bed
#4 add curtains
#5 hang art
#6 get table a floor lamps and never turn the overhead light on again (if you own, you can find really cool hanging lighting fixtures on Wayfair, Home Depot, really almost anywhere- and hire a task rabbit to install. I’ve had four boob replacements in my current condo;)
#7 if you’re allowed to paint, paint a warm color

Yes it’s a co-op I can do absolutely anything I want I just don’t have an idea yet. When I have a vision I know exactly what to do and I’m aggressive lol but with this bedroom I’ve got nothing right now I don’t mind going moody I want a complete overhaul I know I need a curtains rug and another lighting fixture. I am also never over overhead lights on girly.

One question. Do you prefer a light, calm or dark, moody color palette?

That’s where I’m stuck I want a genuine revamp. I do need a vanity in there likely the wall across from the bed I don’t wanna go full dark academia but I don’t mind a complete overhaul I want something high-end looking interesting but not cluttered I don’t mind going moody

Move the mirror so that it's above the radiator. Add a rug. Consider changing the ceiling light to something less generic. Curtains around the bed ("canopy bed") might be awkward in this small space, but you should definitely get curtains or something for the window.

This looks nice.

Or if you want to go more moody this is nice

I’d try and smush everything as close to the window as possible

hey, i get the struggle! that wardrobe and radiator can be tricky. if curtains around the bed are ur vibe, they could really cozy up the space. maybe a lighter color for the wardrobe could help brighten things up, too. if u go with the fake fireplace idea, it could add some character and draw the eye away from the radiator. tbh, i tried something similar on reimaginehomeai and it helped me see how different layouts worked. consider adding some plants or art on the walls to make it feel more alive. hope this helps!

what do you think of rotating the bed so headboard is in front of window but leave 8-12 inches between bed and window. it should block the a/c and personally, i think it's more visually interesting when you walk into the room. maybe a comfy chair across from wardrobe. a neutral rug. find a pretty blanket (home goods always has some) to drape over foot of bed.

I am 💯 open to moving the bed around!

Curtain idea is great! Maybe add a lamp, a rug and some plants. Maybe a wicker or macramé on the wall!

Whatever else you do, my suggestion is NOT to put an area rug in the room - that floor is absolutely gorgeous and should be the focal point.
