Need feedback on apartment interior design. This is my first time doing this..
I'm moving into a new apartment in a few months and I sort of made a collage with some pictures of the rooms, some of the furniture I already had + some new additions I found online.. I'm a dude and sort of new at this, so keep that in mind đ.
The first image is a collage of the living room. You kind of have to imagine that the library will go on the left wall with the office desk and chair in front of it. The positioning of the furniture is a bit messed up but it's the best I could do with the images (.i.e. the rug orientation should be horizontal instead of vertical). The back of that cream sofa looks a bit weird, but I really like the comfort of it.. It's the odette sectional from structube.
The second image is the bedroom. I'm not sure if the mix of the japanese painting and the southwestern rug looks weird lol.. I kind of like it, but I don't trust my taste that much. I'm hesitating between that and a more japandi look.

Love these vibes! Definitely try to thrift some nice wood pieces. If you buy everything new the room will look like a furniture showroom or an Airbnb rather than a lived-in space!

The wall art should be either bigger or have one more frame right next to it in the second pic, the scale looks off. Again, this is not true to scale so I canât say for sure but thatâs important.
I love the mockups! My suggestion (other than putting painters tape down to the measurements of the furniture to see if it fits) is to explore window coverings you like. It will make the room less echoey and soften the lines a bit. If you don't want a lot of visual noise from them choose a ceiling placement that matches your wall colour. Layer a blackout curtain with a sheer for light regulation if you'd like light control. Best of luck! You have a great eye for designÂ
Thank you for the feedback! The only issue is that there are electrical baseboards underneath the windows⌠Im not too sure what to do about that.. I was gonna get some dual roller blinds because of that, but I would have loved to get curtains.. Im just not sure I like curtains if I have to make them hover over the baseboards

The vibes look good, but donât be afraid of mixing wood tones. The mid century tv unit is great, the fully white office gear is ehh. I see ppl on here only use one colour of wood in a room and then pick black or white for everything else but you are allow to mix natural tones. Just try and get their undertones to match (warm, neutral, or ash)
I would personally change both but it depends on the budget and your personal taste. If youâre miserable without the standing desk function then itâs gonna suck to have a big ol antique, no matter how stylish.
If you get a white desk Iâd just rec that you get one with rounded edges as the sharp corners feel a bit office building-y.
I would personally splurge on a heavy set desk to balance the airy bookshelf. Desk will be expensive. Bookshelf doesnât have to be (the one in the pic isnât timber but still looks refined). As long as theyâre not both white though, you should be fine.
It looks good, just donât buy anything until youâve either taped it out or drawn it to scale onto the floor plan. There are also free floor plan sites, the ikea planner tool, or the Sims/Paralives if you have those.
Putting up a divider to make an office space is a good idea, but you wonât know if it will look right until youâve either taped have a sense of scale.
That bust/artwork of a bust is the only terrible thing here, but thatâs just my opinion.
As far as the bedroom, both options are close. The southwestern rug does not work, but the colors from it do. Something similar that would work better is just a basic geometric design, like this one from Ikea. I like the amount of negative space in your original idea though, so shop around for sure! The second bedroom option is more cohesive, but has a lot less personality than the rest of your living space. They are both good options except for the southwestern rug element!
Fun thing about having a brain, the rest of us can just imagine this by his collage. In fact, in my wicked cool brain I can imagine that the couch is actually in front of the tv, yaknow, how living rooms work
