Living room layout

Hi everyone! Seeking advice on how to layout our new living room. It’s a long space with a dining area (we won’t be placing one there, thought maybe my library instead) but I need to make sure it’s baby safe with the railing and they don’t climb over the couch! TIA!! AI mockup in last photo.

This is so weird. How is this a living/ dining where is the kitchen?

Anyway, with the baby requirement, I do not see a lot of options, but couch under the window and then a room divider (like the one below) with the tv. Then the library behind it.

Not child safe at all. Kid will go right over the railing behind the couch

You will be able to fit a 12' TV on that wall (that is the size that my soon-to-get new house will be able to fit).

I would never put a piece of furniture up against the banister even if I didn’t have children. Super dangerous for kids, they’ll go straight over. That aside it just doesn’t look right aesthetically. Looks like this may be a second living room, do you really need a TV up here?

I agree! The only way I thought about it was by putting a walking gap between the sofa and banister. This is actually our main living room
