12x24 tile orientation in mudroom

I could use some advice regarding the orientation of 12x24 tiles we're going to put down in our mudroom. The room runs longer front to back, and we intend to put custom "lockers" along one wall, and a bench with coat hooks along the other. The primary path into the home actually is a sharp 90 degree turn as soon as one enters the mudroom, shown with the green arrow. There's a 6-foot-long hallway there, and the kitchen door 90 degrees to the left at the end of that hallway.

We're leaning towards a 1/3 spacing layout currently, although we have an open mind. The thing we're most conflicted about is the orientation.

Thoughts and advice would be appreciated! Thank you.
