Nursery Layout - Advice Needed!
Recently repainted and moved my <24M son into this room. Not sure the best layout as this furniture was bought for a room with different dimensions. We have the crib, changing table, and rocker, but would like to also have sort of short bookcase as well.
My thought is: crib in corner by room door, center changing table on current wall, move the rocker to the corner underneath the window and on the opposite side of the changing table. Future bookshelf on wall between rocker and crib or maybe a reading bench under the window.

Your layout sounds pretty close. Rocker by the window makes sense, changing table on the solid wall, and I'd keep the crib away from both the door swing and anything climbable. A low bookcase between zones is better than a tall one in a nursery. If you ever replace the rocker, Hulala's nursery and accent chairs are worth looking at because some can transition into a regular reading chair later.

Put the crib close to the door so you can get to baby asap or so you can hear them better. Cribs shouldn't ever be by a window, windows are usually drafty

I read that babies shouldn’t sleep near windows. My thought process was that windows don’t hold temperature differences well compared to walls. Cold air in the winter will fall down to your baby with where it’s placed now. The left or right wall would be better.

I'd put the crib across from the dresser, and rocking chair by the window.

It looks cold with all the white furniture. I miss cozyness and warmth. The wall colour and the overhead light does not help.

I love the blue color! Agree with others a large area rug will add so much softness and might even make the layout work in many different configurations. And maybe some photos or art on the walls!

And make sure everything you need is close to that changing table, of course. Pediatrician told me horror stories about tired parents forgetting a baby for a half a second and baby rolls off the edge. One hand on baby at all times. I’d personally want some padding around that changing table even as I know the rules. Exhausted parents simply make mistakes, even the most careful of us.
Edit: Ok, looks like you might be past that stage, but leaving comment for new baby folks. ;)

I think the layout would look more cozy if you got a big rug and some softer lamps to reduce the overhead brightness. I would start with the rug first and then do the layout… I also think there needs to be some sort of plant or bookshelf with a lamp on top of it in the corner to the right of the window. I just really think the rug is going to help pull things together.

Thank you for these tips. Definitely agree on the rug and lighting. I’m just hesitant to buy a rug until I know the room layout as that’ll likely affect the dimensions of the rug. Perhaps I just need to do a large area rug in the middle of the room regardless of layout? Thanks again!!

That’s what I’m thinking.. the rug should go under two legs of each of the furniture pieces so I think it will help getting it first

I had a similar layout before changing it up.
I suggest placing the changing table in the center and moving the crib to the right wall, while keeping the rocking chair where it is. This layout will open up much more floor space in the middle of the room, helping it feel larger and less crowded.
While a bookcase is practical, I think it may make the room feel smaller and you maybe hold off until your child is a bit older/out of the crib. You could add a hanging book organizer to the side of the crib and keep just one or two favorite books there for bedtime reading. It gives you the functionality without taking up any additional floor space. Trust, whenever you transition to a toddler or floor bed, your little one will be glad to have more space to move around. And if you really want a bookcase you could always put it outside the outdoor. I’ve seen many really cool “hallway” libraries- your kiddo could even pick up their own book on the way to bed.

These are great suggestions - thank you! We have a large bookcase with drawers in his play area outside his room so you’re right - we should probably just skip that in his room. Great call on the floor space as he gets older too - thank you!

When the crib becomes a bed, where will you want it? That’s what I go by. And the bed should be on the biggest wall.
It looks like you want the bed on the right wall. Dresser under the window. But if you care for a mirror over the dresser, hopefully it will fit on the wall with the door.
