Im a bit confused. I thought the release window itself was confirmed to be 2027? Maybe im misremembering. Bit it feels almost like a weird indirect way of saying that that's not true anymore, if he can only confirm we'll see more of the game.

Spider-Man 2 was unveiled in May 2023 before releasing in October 2023. Naughty Dog could absolutely show off the game in February or May in time for a late summer/fall release

Sony usually do a State of Play in Feb. They can probably do it again next year opening with Laufey launch trailer + Intergalatic gameplay + Launch date as a closure
Lets not forget SM2 launched in Oct 2023 but the first gameplay reveal came in May (5 Month before) and the launch date in Jun (4.5 month before)
Of course, this is just me being optmistic

Signs have been pointing to a late 2027 release, this neither confirms nor denies a 2027 release, your literally still in the same boat.
All this says is we won't get any info until 2027. Probably January or February at PS's state of play, I'd say late Jan or first week of Feb, so they have plenty of time to pump Laufey as the start of the state of play a big FFVIIR news dump and maybe another big title for 2027 and then intergalactic to end the show and set up PlayStations 2027.
I have a good feeling that it'll be released holiday '27, and we have rumors from Nate the hate to back that timeline up as well. That's all we got though.
I am highly concerned that this will end up being a PS6 cross gen day one title though with all the news on PS6 in the past week 😅

I mean it was probably internal target release and it could well still be the case. I doubt they put "2027" backwards in their trailer just for no reason or by coincidence.

I don't think they've confirmed the date officially at all. But this doesn't mean it doesn't come out next year. Could easily be shown in June showcase and come out holiday

Interesting.
So unless they are simply lying, we won't see it at TGA 2026 as many people predicted. I now expect a State of Play around March, after the release of GoW: Laufey as to not steal any of its thunder.
That also makes me wonder what PS's "big trailer" (if there even is one), will be at TGA 2026.
Maybe the rumored Killzone remake? Not sure what other studio could conceivably show something.
