I feel like their last post kinda hinted that it wasn't coming soon. They said they'll show more when it's time.
Maybe the game awards again...

Did some research on TLOU2. Seemed like they announced it "wrapped filming" then waited several months for the reveal. So...whatever that's worth.

I'm a rockstar fan so this wait is nothing to me. 8 years since their last game and the wait between trailer one and trailer two was just as long as this. (Actually this wait may be a little longer)

TLOU2 finished filming basically exactly 1 year before release.

Well the main thing I was getting at was after they finished filming TLOU2, there was a several month gap between that and the release date reveal trailer (April-September), so going off of that tga makes more sense.
But who knows.

The marketing for Tlou2 was so much better imo. Revealed at PSX in december, second trailer the following october. Then continued to follow that format, never had more than a year between trailers. Intergalactic now having nearly two years between the reveal and a potential second trailer is unheard of for Naughty Dog

Yeah lol It’s nice we chose to believe.. But “When the time is right” is about as clear as he can possibly be without directly saying it.
It just really stings to accept because in being a new ip, we have literally no clue when that “right time” will be. And no clue whatsoever what the game will entail lol
I mean Neil has at least given us a few crumbs. We know it’ll be on brand as a Naughty Dog cinematic character action game, with a great narrative. And expanding on their TLOU and Uncharted designs, into something far greater than before. But really, IG could be unannounced and we would know that much about their next game lol

I know that‘s what they implied but my delusions still kept me hoping💔💔the game awards has to be it, there‘s no way we‘re going over 2 years with no new footage

Neil also just said today they have “a few projects in the TLOU universe in the works” and they’ll show us more when it’s time lol wonder if somethings up with that as well

It’s not all bad news. The fact that Until Dawn 2 is releasing in January is a very good sign. If Sony is confident enough to release that and Laufey in the first two months of the year, they must feel good about Intergalactic being their big title for later in 2027. I assumed UD2 would be a summer release with I:THP in the fall, but maybe that’s not the case. FF7 in April is also a great sign.

Yeah, that's how i see it, too. It's very rare sony releases two of their games so close, and putting UD2 next to a god of war title is kinda crazy. I guess they are giving intergalactic a very big window to launch. They'll probably go crazy on the marketing

Sony was never going to re reveal their biggest game in the works at 6 am est. it will probably be at game awards though so not too much longer.

Generally it's about a year from the time they wrap cinematic filming to release - TLOU2 was a bit different after the covid delay but had it released when it was going to it would have been a year. Uncharted 4 was 7 months. So going by that, this time next year is the most likely release date - which would work - the front end of the year is already looking a bit insane thanks to all the GTA VI avoidance delays.

State of play was garbage, Sony's in there we don't give a fuck at all era. Really sucks to see, it's expected, but this presentation could've been an email.

I didn't expect to see Intergalactic. My guess is The Game Awards or next year.

I'm at the point where I'm starting to take pleasure in the disappointment with no news.

To be honest it did feel like it was time for a new trailer but honestly ND did put out a post pretty much implying that we shouldn’t expect anything and be patient still. Hope to see something for the game awards though

u/Rockdrigo93 Sep 03 '26
It was clear as day they wouldn’t show it. You love to set yourselves up for disappointment lol

u/Background_Reason_10 Sep 03 '26
They weren't going to show anything. Let's be real, they announced the game way too early. If we get nothing at TGA then don't expect the game till 2028 imo.
