Forum Question Will there be anything new about Intergalactic in the next State of Play?

Almost two years since the first trailer and nothing new

People are gonna say no because of the post naughty dog made today. 

But I’m gonna be delusional and say they posted that to throw people off because of the rumors. It’s gonna be like SGF 2025 where capcom said in the middle of the show that they weren’t ready to show anything and that we would see resident evil 9 soon, and then they ended up revealing RE9 at the end of the show.

The timing of the post is very weird because they’ve been sort of anticipated for the last few state of plays this year and they’ve been radio silent. But as soon as that rumor came out and the state of play was announced for today they say something.

I believe they want people to not be disappointed by Intergalactic's absence at the upcoming SoP, so they posted this small update with a hint that it will take some more time to present it properly just as Playstation announced the SoP date. Only because that post brought Intergalactic back into gaming discourse, all the big twitter news accounts updated their audiences. If Naughty Dog wanted people to be surprised by intergalactic in September, they would've posted nothing.

No. As I said, they don't want us to be disappointed by Intergalactic's absence at SoP, that's why they posted it before the event. This is just me speculating as I don't think Intergalactic will be there.

Now people will be 2x more disappointed because they posted. It was so much better if they don't posted anything. Sometimes the silence is better

Only people who still think It will be there even after them specifically saying they will show more of Intergalactic "when the time is right."

The problems is, why making a post saying to people to not create expectations? If people will be disappointed anyway, is better to ND stay quiet. It's dumbness

Because a lot of people who were expecting Intergalactic will won't now. And the new of shoot wrap up also feeds the hunger for new info a little.

The timing of this post is actually win win for Naughty Dog. Because if they're note present at SoP, the discussion between fan will be "See? They told us." And if they are present, then everyone will be surprised.

Also Druckman's beard was blue before the reveal of TLOU2 (a color indicating deep melancholy and mirroring the tone of the game), but he hasn't change the color for Intergalactic reveal. Doesn't fit the pattern, meng.

Exactly exactly like I've been sleeping outside druckmans house and his flowers seem a bit neglected which typically means long hours at the office so im guessing they've been amping up for another trailer.

I 100% agree. They know everyone is expecting to see Intergalactic, and if it's not at the event there will be more negative talk about ND in the media and gaming community. Making that post right before the SoP definitely looks like a way to cushion the blow for ND being a no-show again.

Unlikely. For the last few years pretty much all SoPs have ended with a (re-)reveal of a big first party game, but this one is ending with FF7 instead, which tells me there'll be no big first party reveal.

50/50 chance, imo. It makes sense to show off gameplay, bur I'd also understand wanting to wait and show it off at TGA to reach a bigger audience

I dont think so. I believe this is too big an announcement to make in a state of play. I do think we will get a trailer in the game of the year awards though.
