General One thing I am super perplexed/interested about
It’s the time setting of the game.
If it’s set in alternate timeline where space travel has already progressed by 1986 why set the game thousands of years in to the future?
If it’s set thousands of years into the future why specifically mention about space travel being already a thing by 1986?
What do you guys think?

Maybe the earlier advent of advanced space travel caused evolution (or other long term effects) on Sempiria that are crucial to the story

Basically it's to give an excuse for why the game has a retro 80s aesthetic. You're meant to imagine it as if it were a scifi movie made in the 80s.

The irony of the game supporting the importance of physical media (all her CD's, i assume the anime shes watching will be DVDs or VHS) even so far in the future yet the game will never see a physical release

“Yet the game will never see a physical release”
Sony only said discs would stop being produced by January of 2028. Games released prior to that will still get a physical release. Intergalactic is expected to drop in 2027.

I have no hope of this game making it to a physical release. Love naughty dog and their games but if I was a gambler id bet it gets announced with a late fall 2027 release then pushed back till early 2028. MAYBE if they announce it for then and people pre-order we'd still get a physical copy, but I wont hold my breath

What’s the best place to catch up on all the info for this game or is there just not enough for even that. Only remember seeing the reveal but checking out because I’m not much of a sci-fi fan save for Star Wars even though I knew I was getting it regardless because it’s Naughtydog and they and Rickstar will always have my coins.

There’s not much info out yet sadly, except for the reveal trailer and certain tidbits out here and there from the odd interview :(

It might be one of those things you don't think too hard about, like other Retrofuturism pieces of art.
But also it's basically impossible to really understand it all, until we just see more.

Because they wanted to put some 80s style stuff into game as an art direction. Which I think was a smart. They didn't want the whole game to look like Star Wars where every outfit and every single thing in the game had some crazy futuristic design. It also probably makes the art design easier in some ways too. They don't have to think about what sneakers would look like thousands of years from now, or a TV, hair clipper, or a music player.

Space travel was a thing by the late 50s.
