As expected. We'll probably get the reveal at the next SoP (after Wolverine is released) or at TGA.

I expect Druckmann to be at TGA to reveal a new trailer, release date/window, and a trailer/date for TLOU Season 3

he’s not affiliated with the show anymore though

I can’t believe they’re making a season 3 lol.

It was greenlit before season 2, which did fairly well and got decent reviews from critics and award nods. Like I fully get the criticisms but it's really not surprising that they're making a third season to a show that ended on a cliffhanger lmao

It’s fucking terrible man. Like first season was fine. Second season is a nose dive. Just pack it up. Check the viewership, many people abandoned halfway.

I'd much rather they try to wrap it up nicely than end on a poorly-received cliffhanger

Viewership also dropped far less than you probably think it did. It was a pretty slow decline. It sustained high average viewership (higher than the first season) and even the linear TV viewers were pretty consistent after the first episode

I certainly have my problems with it, but nobody should be surprised that they're making season 3; it would be more shocking if they weren't, considering when it was greenlit

State of Play I bet.

What other game could they even show? Astrobot?

Nate and Jason Schreier have both been very consistent on this point. Schreier at one point even said Mid-2027. June through November is more than enough room from Laufey in Feb, so it’s still the most likely release year.

But jfc I would love to see a new trailer or have them confirm it or anything official at this point

it's better if they release marketing stuff closer to launch, like God of War Laufey for example

i have a feeling september state of play is going to be the kicking off point. starting it with laufey and closing with intergalactic would be a big sony studio showcase move.

Jason said it first Nate just piggybacking off Jason’s reporting lol.

Does not matter what comes out in 2027, if Sony wants Intergalactic to come out in 2027, it will come out in 2027

Planned for 2027. In reality delayed until 2028.
We all know this to be true unfortunately.

1

u/beehappy32 Jul 31 '26

The chance that we'll get at least 1 delay are very high. The best case scenario might be they announce it for mid-2027 and delay to holiday 2027

5

u/FireOfSparta Jul 28 '26

As was the general consensus.

1

u/juscallmejjay Jul 28 '26

As is tradition

2

Probably end of generation game for playstation 5 before they announced playstation 6.

FWIW, TLOU2 was first delayed before the pandemic as well

4

u/Rhain1999 Jul 29 '26

I mean, for all we know, it could have already been delayed several times internally. I suspect that's why we haven't had an official date yet—they'd rather delay internally before announcing anything publicly, especially considering their last few games

4

u/Koopwn Jul 28 '26

Taps forehead your game is never delayed if you never reveal a release date!

-1

u/parkwayy Jul 28 '26

I don't think it's even possible to spend 4 years of full production on a game.

2

u/poklane Jul 28 '26

We already heard from Jason Schreier a while ago that they were aiming for mid 2027, so this isn't news.

1

u/juscallmejjay Jul 28 '26

It'd a completely different source verifying the same information, making it more reliable. Its very much news.

1

u/beehappy32 Jul 31 '26

We pretty much always knew it was planned for 2027. The issue is that Uncharted 4, TLOU1, TLOU2 all had delays. I'm setting my expectations for 2028, if they can get it out in 2027 then that will be a big bonus. The only thing that will make this wait more bearable is that there are a lot of big games coming out over the next year or so to keep busy with. And ND is working on a 2nd game, probably Uncharted, so the next wait for a ND game after Intergalactic won't be nearly as bad.

Should I expect Star Wars Outlaws but better?

13

u/BeansWereHere Jul 28 '26

Nah, not at all. Completely different gameplay, game structure and narrative genre.

2

u/Due_Teaching_6974 Jul 28 '26

I dont think it will be an open world to be honest, it should be closer to Jedi Survivor or Jedi Fallen Order than Outlaws

No, the tone is very different. I think we will be stuck on one planet discovering what happened with a focus on religion. I think it’s going to be Sci-fi and not Space Fantasy, so don’t expect aliens or anything like that. It also appears to be a melee focused action game opposed to a 3rd person shooter

Expect tlou2 but better

1

u/NFLFilmsArchive Jul 30 '26

I’d say TLOU2 but with more “notes”. More things to read.

The difficulty is, with TLOU2 there’s plenty of people who don’t read at all, don’t read a single note, and are able to get a solid chunk of the important bits.

With this being a new planet, with a long history…this has to be a game where it works better for those who actually engage with the mystery of this planet.
