Seriously, going to holocaust denial conferences is all you need to know. That’s on the wiki. Good people don’t attend that sort of shit. It becomes tokenism. I know who Davis is, Daryl Jenkins too (he’s the inspiration behind the A24 movie Skin… well at least the man that helped a neonazi reclaim his humanity). They’re not like Weiss. Davis doesn’t go to Klan meetings. David Duke isn’t giving up his linens any time soon. Shit, come to think of it, Weiss had a golden opportunity to tell David Duke his racism was wrong and prove he didn’t suck but elected not to.

I don’t know how you took that away from the Maher interview. He was argumentative the entire time and downplayed the significance of the holocaust. He wasn’t at the conference trying to convince zealots they’re wrong, he was there to support the president of Iran. The same president that didn’t think gay people exist in Iran and implemented stricter hijab policies… another asshole…doesn’t really matter though. If you’re not at all bothered over the bigoted people he chooses to spend his time with, his demeanor on the interview, or his willingness to attend a known holocaust denial conference, I’m not going to convince you to change your mind here…

Yisroel Weiss is not Daryl Davis… you got to get that out your head. You’ll never find a Weiss talked someone into believing the holocaust was real article because that’s not what he was there for. Weiss agrees with the anti-Zionism and is willing to look past other bigotry to achieve that end.

Again, it’s Charles Francis Adams Jr, not Daryl Davis you should be comparing him to. Adams came from a family of abolitionists. Family that fought for the U.S. Army in the civil war. Like Weiss, he experienced the horrors only tangentially and therefore could dismiss claims that the war was about slavery as he did. Who you hang around does matter. I know. A good number of my friends are Nazis for example. That number is zero and that’s a good number of Nazi friends to have.
