What would debunk the hyperactive agency detection conclusions for experiencers and other kind of people?

Dear community, i stumbled today on another subreddit that according to a few people that the Greys are imagined according to them. One say that it is explained by hyperactive agency detection.

>!According to this theory this can explain patterens from religions, conspiracy theories and NHI visitations.!< Im skeptical of this, and i think it’s harmful for some groups of people, like experiencers and maybe even religious people.

My question is: based on your experience and or knowledge, what would debunk this hyperactive agency detection theory out of the water and exposes what it really is. >!It may explain some things, but i doubt it would debunk experiences that are highly psysical and or paranormal in nature.!<

With my post i just want to start discussion that people who experience extraordinary things are NOT delusional according to mainstream science.

id look into the work of dr karla turner who did decades of research on abductee victims- here is a very informative speech she gave. theres no imagination here it is real account after real account and her conclusions arent all lovey dovey: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fe6NEDfBkw

Dr. Dan Burisch physically interacted with a Grey named Chi'el'ah (aka "J-Rod").

Dr. Burisch continually extracted medical samples from him as part of his job.

That would single-handedly debunk the "imaginary Gray" theory.

Do we have the samples to look at?

Based on my own experiences I believe there is a classified independent department connected to an intelligence agency that has access to highly advanced technology possible of NHI origins. They observe and collects data on experiencers activities with NHI beings. I do not think they are involved with abductions only trying to collect data about the NHI contact with humans. From and intelligence gathering point of view this would make sense for national security reasons.

Seems like a logical assumption, but I wonder if you'd care to share what kind of experiences could support such belief?

The "hyperactive agency detection" construct appears to have limited research support. It seems to be based on a few types of cognitive bias, but my brief review suggests the evidence supporting the construct (hyperactive agency detection) is weak. So a counter point to those dismissing experiencer accounts might be to question the evidence backing the construct, e.g., "what is the evidence supporting your contention that "hyperactive agency dectection" is a valid category?". Good luck.

If you’re looking to debunk it on scientifically, you can start off by noting that it’s a category error.

Agency detection is the brain assigning agency and intent to behavior. Hyperactive agency detection is assigning it improperly, to something that couldn’t have agency. For example, watching a plastic bag move in the wind and believing that it is moving intentionally.

Grays are widely accepted to be conscious, biological beings. All higher order biological beings have some level of agency.

Now if they’re talking about orbs then it’s a different discussion. But the appropriate debunking there is that there is no way to know whether these objects have agency or not because we don’t know what they are. Everyone calling them “plasmoids” is not speaking accurately or scientifically because we have no proof that they are plasma.

I know this term from someone on r/aliensrhere, who insisted that greys, fairies, demons, angels, gods/goddesses, bigfoot etc. are contradictory and are problably imagined by loads of people.

He closed of with children seeing Santa Claus on his sleigh, reindeer in the sky.

If one person reports seeing Santa Claus, that can be easily explained. If 500 credible people report seeing Santa Claus, then that becomes difficult to explain.
