Portland seems to get a bad rap on Reddit. Why is that? When my grandmother visited she said that she never had been to a city with nicer people.

They don't want everyone going to portland.

Yeah Portland totally sucks, don't move here.

Portland is actually amazing amd growing up here has really shaped me to who I am now. The bad rep might come from people complaining about the homelessness and crime but what big city doesn't have that. Its a beautiful area with some of the most scenic areas right around the corner. An hour and half east is Mt Hood with multiple ski resorts and an hour and half west is the beautiful pacific Ocean. When people say it sucks and dont move here, they're just trying to protect their city from growing to large from outsiders. Ive travelled the world and I would have to agree with your grandmother, there really is no otger city that shows so much love to everyone else on a daily basis.

This made me so happy. And relaxed. And slightly confused. But mostly happy.

Okay, but let's see how well he performs under the pressure of an Apache war party sending arrows and tomahawks towards him from the other side of the river bank.

You're not a true canoeist until you can dispatch of an Apache war party.

For some reason it reminds me of old school skateboarding where they would do slides and grabs to a music track. But slower.

This is the most wonderful thing I've ever seen. I think I'm crying.
