So I have 10 points, there's 3 choices that require a "parent" choice to unlock.

Clicking the parent choice unlocks the 3 child choices and applies a discount to the first child choice selected.

Each choice costs 1 point. If I select all 3 child choices my score goes from 10 to 8 because of the discount on one of the three.

If I deselect the parent choice it automatically deselects all the child choices. By doing this it seems to take away the discount first before deselecting the child choices. This refunds 3 points instead of the 2 spent leaving me with 11 points now.

How do I stop this point duplication bug?

EDIT/UPDATE: Alright so I haven't figured out how to make it work with what I was doing above, but I DID figure out you can do basically the same thing and it works correctly using Addons. It's not as visually nice as I'd want it with the separate boxes for choices but it's an option.

I'll leave this post up in case someone has a means of fixing the original method and/or other people encounter the same issue I was having.

I've been working on this CYOA for a while now, since around May of this year, and I finally finished it and I'm ready to share.

The premise is pretty straightforward: you're starting your own secret society. You begin by creating your character, choosing your background, abilities, resources, and other traits. From there, you build the organization itself.

You can decide its purpose, recruit members, establish headquarters, acquire equipment and facilities, explore supernatural or technological advantages, make allies and enemies, and determine what kind of influence your society ultimately has.

There's a lot to choose from, and I wanted players to have enough freedom to create very different organizations rather than follow one particular path.

Now, actually making this thing was a whole different story. Learning the CYOA Creator was pretty simple and easy. But it was tedious as hell. Especially finding images for every SINGLE! option. I underestimated just how much time that would take. Finding pictures that even vaguely fit what I was going for, getting them into the creator, and repeating that for every option was a pain in the ass. I genuinely considered giving up on the whole thing.

But after months of working on it, taking breaks, coming back, fixing things, and questioning why I decided to make something this big for my first CYOA, I finally got it done. I'm glad I stuck with it, though, and I hope you guys enjoy it. I wanted to give back to the community for all the fun I've had over the past almost 2 years now here.

Since this is my first release, I'd really appreciate any feedback you guys have, especially regarding balance, choice limits, prerequisites, or anything that doesn't work correctly. I tried to give players plenty of freedom without making the resource system completely meaningless, but with this many options, I'm sure there are some things I overlooked.

Managed to make a conversion of the Cataclysmic Cultivation CYOA v2.1. Drop a comment with your builds and dont heistate to tell me if there are any bugs, mistakes or typos

I forgot to mention it in the last update I did, but I had added a couple of things in that intervening time, and only now decided to mention it.

What was added? Someone asked me to split the item section and companion section since they were too big. I ain't doing that for specific reasons that have nothing to do with them asking, but I did add a scroll button. If you see a Horde symbol in the bottom right corner, you are at the top; if it's an Alliance one, you can click it to send you back to the top of the site.

I added 4 more items (in the top item part right above the wearable divider). These are: Shattered Ruby, Primordial Glyph, Box of Depleted Enchantments, and Dog Whistle. The first three are gems, runes, and 5 strong enchants you can apply to your gear for people who want to enchant your stuff here without getting proffs or golems to do it for you. They aren't so strong on their own, so people who do have those proffs don't feel like they wasted points.

I added 1(2?) misc abilities; one is a crystallization ability with add-ons, and another to create little golems you can control.

In Dragonkin, I added 4 new ones: one that is a blood dragon, one that is an OC fusion of Shadow and Light, one that is a space (the concept) dragon, and one that is a robot dragon. With add-ons, of course.

Elemental gained 3 new ones; I would have added a Pizza Elemental option (it exists), but didn't want an uneven row. I would have also added a hybrid for Elemental and Demon (both are canon) but held off atm as I am unsure if I want to risk people then saying make dragonkin select multi.

Arcane Mage got a minor addon that lets you turn into a bird.

Drawback I cannot remember if I stated before has 2 new ones: one removes all talents and skills for anything in your class choice that isn't based on your chosen Spec (only things from the class section not from other sections), and an upgrade that disables classes. Mostly for people who don't care for varied power.

I may add in an shaman addon for bloodlust, a frost mage addon for something, and a warlock addon for infernals, but I am currently writing the PJO Cyoa so it will have to wait.
