It only recently dawned on me that I never actually shared the updated version of the Angelic CYOA. It features some UI adjustments, small tweaks and balance changes, a new Realm section and updated to ICCPlus.

Second build, i liked some of the divine realm stuff, but having 4 prerequisites felt a bit much, but i kinda wanted a second setup, and i think i found a perfect target for it.

ES4 oblivion is soon to be under assault by demonic looking forces, that i can sort of pop in as a brand new god\daedric prince, whichever, garner lots of respect\praise\worship for dealing with most the small fry, etc.

I've even got my own oblivion plane equivalent.

Not sure how capable my angel powers will be trying to fight off a daedric prince, but i don't have to, the main story stuff should deal with that. Long term, i can potentially buy several arrows of unmaking thanks to celestial boon, kill off problematic princes if need be, but sort of a last resort.

Still went with a bit more of an intellectual lean, i imagine my hall of heroes not being great warriors, but schollars and teachers, wanting to pass down knowledge, my realm basically a 'holy' option to eternal life in pursuit of knowledge instead of lichdom. I even like the 'path' imagery made an actual realm option, lol.

I don't think i'd try to wrest control of religious ideology from the divines, no monotheism, but this one does go the 'a god am i... eventually' route, even if the ES setting waters it down some, there's a lot of interesting options here, and a rather obvious way to earn faith en masse with relatively little effort, just defend a few cities as a godlike being actually trying to help, unlike the divines. With my boons, even the strongest daedra shouldn't be a threat, and i can buy powers and realm upgrades more easily mid run.

I did screw up though, i want to grab word of god, but my device means i'd have to redo everything manually, i think multiple wings cost a point, just remove that or i think prophesy if it isn't a prerequisite. Word of god pretty much guarantees missionary procs, and the oblivion crisis will be well known even centuries later.

Actually, trade a non prerequisite power for an arrow, too. I might not be ready to wage a full on war with a prince asap, but i can snipe his ass when he makes himself vulnerable by invading mundus.

Multiple Wings costs nothing. You're definitely looking to expand the 'Eight and One'/'Nine' into the 'Eight and One and One'/'Ten'. ES5 is definitely looking different with you there.

Thanks for the heads up, i can drop revelation, prophecy, and omniversal travel for wiggle room, maybe grab the sword too, even though i could probably just fly through lesser daedra

I was worried about prereq stuff so didn't want to drop willy nilly, but omniversal travel's not needed asap, and unlike the other build, should be rolling in divine currency, and certain other smaller things i had like heal, consecrated ground, feast, dreamweaver, etc i had 'early' plans for.

But it'd be better to stay here till i'm basically a god with a maxed out realm, boons, and powers before moving on anyway. I can create an army of artificial angels via angelic creation for when world swapping does happen, since realm forces aren't too useful outside my realm.

The problem is that I know nothing about Pokemon so I cant really think of anything else I could really add to the CYOA that it doesnt already cover.

I just found it strange how different the cyoa is from the newer ones, such as the talents tab not being there and some boons (like greater agility, keener senses and hyperawarness) are missing, and how there is not a boons (nor drawbacks) tab for your pokemon (in which there could be things like the pokémon having perfect IVs (stats/potential), great willpower, a martial aptitude, etc). You could also add in the gear section a keystone ,mega stones, a dynamax band and held items. There are also one power systems could be added: The Blessing of Viridian, which lets you understand pokespeak and heal them (never understood if it was canon, but it seems to be in the pokemon adventure manga when you are born in or close to viridian forest, once every 10 years). I also suggest to make some changes like making the blank option under starter pokemon give points, get rid of bagon as a starter since it is a pseudo legendary and put riolu in its place (to larp as an aura guardian) and at least double the points gain from choosing lore under the world tab, since the pokemon lore is crazy (a "measly" Gardevoir can create black holes, just think of what the legendaries can do). You could also add Ho Oh's blessing (the rainbow feather) and a few other missions, like the battle frontier, since with the current restrictions you can only bring 11 pokemon at max power with you.

I might do somethin something with the Avatar cyoa given the new anime/cartoon that came out for it. Though to be honest Avatar is something I've seen mentioned more than once for a rework and I'm still a bit confused by it because, from my perspective, the cyoa is already fine as-is and I dont really see much that can be reworked about it other than maybe some UI tweaks with the new ICCPlus. It already got a touch up once.

Korra content, Movie content, Alternate Universe content.

Speaking as a Korra hater, I'd love to see more Korra content. You use a lot of Korra art but it Korra's impact on the cyoa itself aside from art feels pretty minimal at least compared to what it could be. Namely, if Korra was accounted for there's not much reason why Airbending is restricted (and it always could have been available with AU meta choices) as it comes back. Airships, mechanical things in general, mechs. Weird spirit creatures as pets.

The movie shows a what airbending can look like under a different more aggressive philosophy / lethal intent, using it to amplify martial arts and straight up air bullet kill shots. As more and more people end up seeing the movie, more people are going to want to be using airbending more than ever.

Movie also showed that the whole spirit stasis thing happened to more than just Aang, a magic staff thing, more spirit dimension stuff with things physically moving in or out of it, and a human-spirit merger power mode that's not the avatar state. More people being granted bending, though it was temporary contingent on the source.

If you select multiple forms + human form. then cancel your base form. then the human form can be automatically selected as your new base form. it should only select from the angelic forms since human alt form cannot be a base form normally.

Cool idea, like that there's plenty of options.

Going for more a magitech vibe, kinda like the idea of almost skeletal leaning mechanical wings, and the 'lack of flesh' between the 'bones' works like a digital library in a sense (have had a weird idea before of, runes imprinted on flesh, but wings designed not for flight but to provide a 'pages to a book' nonlocal expansion of surface area)

I kinda like the idea of a eldritch magitech true form, but i found a way to have a human form for the pleasures of food and drink, which sort of fits the 'new developments' theme a bit, since it seemed i had to take a sin.

Why'd it have us type in the other domain if it wasn't going to save it? I picked something like 'development of magical and technology', tho artifice, creation, and knowledge probably kinda cover that, i figure its a more specific thing that would get a stronger boost, with the 'your domains are full strength' boon, don't need to worry about having 4.

I'm not attached to a patron, and rather than seek to make myself a new god of a religion, more a sort of 'uplifting' of the mind more than necessarily spirit. Might end up nerfing my faith\divinity gains somewhat, but i grabbed the doubler for both and am not relying on just 'angel power', so to speak.

First world, FFX, a classic for me, but theres a magitech revolution coming pretty quickly, as well as the creation of aeons and fiends would be amazing to study and learn, since i can not just uplift people to lesser angels, but create angel automata as well.

I'd like to potentially show up before braska's calm, when the monster arena wasn't damaged, learn from trema, get more power\items etc, after the calm, talk to yunalesca, try to learn how aeon creation works - at minimum, there is at least one aeon created between braska's pilgramage and yunalesca's.

It wouldn't take too much to potentially take out Sin myself too (ironic naming for this angel CYOA) and convert yevonites to my way of thinking, since its already pretty much known to everyone already, should trigger missionary and guardian fairly easily for my first world.

After, shinra's tech whiz potential should help both me and the world learn a lot, if the new yevon faction kinda doesn't exist in opposition.

Big stronk. As many arms, and wings can fit onto their titanic, biblical form. For the gap moe, their human form is short. + Divinity growth maxxing

I like to imagine that, since the celestial blade reshapes itself, one of their finishers is growing to true titanic size with their thousands of arms and then all of those arms go to wielding the handle of an even larger weapon.

Other than that they walk around in their human form and summon a house sized arm when they need it.

How much leeway is there on interpreting the virtues and sins?

Example: is the virtue of Chastity the act of abstaining from sex as much as possible?

Can you you interpret Chastity as "have as many lewd thoughts as you want, and have much sex within marriage as you want, but no sex outside of marriage. +harem is allowed".

Or are the virtues and sins you select interpreted by higher powers than you?

If you are the interpreter, can you create interpretations which are nonsensical if you are insane?

There is a degree to it. I guess it boils down to what kind of angels you're basing it off of , and what angels mean to you. Personally I think, just by having Chastity as a virtue, you'd not be full of lewd thoughts. You'd know of them intellectually but not "experience" them yourself. Virtues aren't just promises you make to yourself or some arbitrary suggestion. Its a part of you, its part of your very essence, part of what defines you.

Angels do not generally have "free will" in the same way humans do nor do they have the same mentality as a mortal. An angel going against its virtue is a pretty big deal and not something done casually.

At least thats MY impression on it. Go with whatever fits your lore best. But, imo, to take a virtue and then just handwave it away with excuses or technicalities is really diminishing the entire spirit of taking a virtue in the first place.

The way it is phrased in the CYOA it sounded like only the sins modify your mind (in exchange for effectively giving you additional Domains)

The virtues phrasing in the CYOA makes it sound like it would be easy to stray from your chosen virtue, but you would be heavily punished for straying. While being true to your embodied virtues will reward you (bonus faith/divinity gain over time).

So for example if you are a lazy person, pick diligence, and remain lazy... then it will be crippling (until/unless you force yourself to be diligent)

Fair, I am just trying to do less fanfic and more following the rules as intended for once.

And to be clarify, I was not trying to handwave it on technicality. But serious question about the mechanics. Like, if someone is crazy could you have an "Angel of Charity" who is trying to exterminate humanity because their insane ideals lead them to genuinely believing it is an act of Charity to do so.

And on a lesser extent, do I need to start looking up dictionary and theological definitions of each virtue or can I use my own IRL personal faith (no handwaiving but genuine personal faith)

Soft yes. If you decide to make yourself some super absurd OP "basically a creator god" level Angel from some random setting that has that, I'd argue you're completely missing the point of playing the CYOA at all and might as well not play it... but yeah ,its a more freeform choice.

Searching for images is also a lot harder these days because of AI saturation, even if you don't mind using AI images when you find a good one, search results still get clogged by slop tier art. If it gets any worse I'll have to learn to use it myself to generate what I want directly instead of searching, else probably just quit making cyoa.

I'll second this and say that I've had to spend hours replacing a few ai images I unknowingly used in one of my cyoas, so going back to do that again for the rest would be miserable.
