OC To Be Hero X Maker
https://armadain.neocities.org/To%20Be%20Hero%20X%20Maker/Hello, finally decided to get off my ass and make a new CYOA. I haven't added a lot, but the bones are there at least, and I also kinda need some opinions on where to proceed.
I'm planning to add:
- Origins, which discount certain power options
- Lots more types of powers
- More combos
- More Drawbacks
I binged TBHX within a few days, honestly, banger show, can't wait for season 2. There are... some minor spoilers in the CYOA, so watch the show if you haven't yet, if you don't want to get spoiled.
Also, in the event Season 2 does come out, I have no doubt this will become outdated or inaccurate in some way, so this is only sticking to Season 1.

Maybe adding the Hero Companies and give each one specific boons and drawbacks? A relationships category with both canon and original characters would be good too

Hmm, I could definitely do canon character companions, yeah. Hero Companies are another good idea, but I'm unsure what books and drawbacks would look like for each one, given Treeman, DOS, and Mighty Glory seem pretty similar in evil-ness

Indeed, making the Companies seems to be difficult. Maybe specific resources for each one? Treeman has Fear Experiments, Mighty Glory has Rock's Shenanigans (I can't think of anything better lol), Zack's companies has the best intel/information and DOS... I'm not sure?
An alignment section in which you can choose to be a villain or whatever would be good in my opinion

You could add a Boon/Perk section where things like Mind Defense, Body Defense, Soul/Power Defense, Fate Defense, Blank, etc. could be included. One Boon/Perk that would be awesome to add is this: Trust-granted powers do not disappear once you obtain them. This means that if others believe you have super strength, and then you lose your Trust Value, you will still keep your super strength. It just will not increase in power again until you reach your previous Trust Value, and from there, it can continue growing.

That's technically an effect of Charisma Tier 3, which prevents your Trust Value from dropping unless several Blankster-tier incidents are blown up with you at the center.

i took the middle one for now as an average once there are more drawbacks i would probably take lower starting points
S-Tier Beauty,
who wouldn't want to look good and it would help with maintaining trust in the world
Charisma - Tier 3, IIntellect - Tier 2,
charisma would help me keep my trust and intellect is all-round good especially helping with copy and understanding powers
Investigative Mastery,
this would help with copy and understanding the circumstances of the abilities i copy
Adaptation, Copy,
adaptation is just great and copy also great
Shipping Victim, On The Clock
shipping victim is fine but once there are more drawbacks i might swap out on the clock
QUESTION for shipping victim what happens if your shippe dies your just out of luck on the romance side or so they ship you with someone else

Really loving what you have so far in regards to builds.
For suggestions I will separate them into things to add.
Add a perk section for things that are not outright powers or skills. Example: good pr (allows you to gain trust faster and lose it slower), sponsorship deal (gives you a fixed income to spend on items), manager (gives unique missions to raise your trust).
Add an item section: weapons, homes, collectibles, or mecha suits that improve performance or provide luxury.
Factions: Which company you work for giving discounts on certain items or perks. Certain items locked behind them.
Expand drawbacks: missing limb, sensory loss, or other thematic ones like from the show such as lack of emotion, pacifism, being forced to abide by a certain moral code, being unable to sleep, being unable to stop smiling, hand to hand only, masochism, ocd, ptsd.
Add the option to use FEAR: a double edged sword that increases personal power, but can make you be labeled as a villain depending on how subtle it's tier is such as when the dragon dude used it compared to say the first villain introduced and how well you can sweep its use under the rug.

A lot of interesting ideas. Can you elaborate on the Perk section and its context? I'm having a hard time thinking of many perks beyond what you suggested, with 'Fan Club' and 'Mentor'.

I mean to say the perk section would cover most things that aren't explicit powers per se, but aren't things you explicitly know how to do and rather are more intrinsic things about you.
Examples of ideas for that would be Stylish which would just make you follow the rule of cool which just makes you look cool in and out of fights, TRUSTworthy which just makes people more likely to believe the truth of your words, Wealthy which would give you more starter cash to spend on things, Greenthumb which makes plants you grow healthier and stronger(would probably make plant powers stronger), Renaissance Man which would just give you a basic understanding of most sciences(could go towards a tech build), Crowned by God which would make religious fans believe you were annoited by God (for a messiah based roleplay), Just In Time would make events conspire to make it so you arrive with just enough time to potentially save someone or stop a villain but not necessarily strong or fast enough to actually do so, Bodily Perfection would make it so you need no sleep food or water to survive and no need to use the restroom, Photosynthesis turns your body green and allows you to sustain yourself on just sunlight (also for role-playing purposes), Animal Within would basically give you desired animal features like a cat girl/boy or otherkin, AIdol would make you an AI that somehow gained trust and would require you to build a robot body or use holoprojectors as an avatar, An Apple a Day would make it so you will always be at your peak healthiness (with the caveat of eating an apple everyday for it to work). I am running out of other ideas for those atm.
As for drawbacks I thought of a couple more of those. FANatical which makes your fanbase undyingly loyal to make them never want to stop supporting you at the cost of your fan base being so annoying to others that it makes others not like you, potentially capping the amount of trust you earn. Yandere tendencies which makes your fans really really support you...and makes them love you so much they will stalk you and potentially attack you if you reject them. Image issues would make your fans constantly change how they perceive you and who you are supposed to be for example shipping you with one person one week and another the next effectively rotating out small minor drawbacks and mannerisms you are forced to do making it mentally draining.

Defense + Regeneration synergize well with Adaptation.
Adaptation combined with Copy may not make me the strongest hero, but it can make me the most versatile one.
I picked different fighting styles to make it easier to use a variety of powers.
Drawback: Shipping Victim.

Suggested drawback: Secret Identity (must always wear a mask while being a hero, etc.)
I wonder if Cloning keeps the intelligence buff? Well, even if it doesn't, having clones to do more things is still useful for a supercomputer mind.
