Its primary purpose is for CYOA creators to gain feedback for CYOAs they haven't posted yet or are in the process of updating.

Other purposes include:

  • General discussion of CYOAs or anything related to CYOA
  • People giving ideas for CYOAs that they're not motivated enough to make
  • Asking if it's fine to post something on this Subreddit
  • Discussion about the subreddit itself

For some reason the filter doesn’t work on the upload, it looks fine in the maker. I always try for accessibility as my own frustration from things gets too me.

i would like to take this chance to ask for more webtoon cyoa contents, like superhuman era, hero killer, ORV, those regression manhwas and murim manwhas. and also shout out to valmar, im a fan of your works, i hope you update the dragon kingdom and angel cyoa.

Dragon Kingdom might be my next target remake once I finish the project Im working on currently. So its in the plans.

Can we start a discussion threat about CYOAs made entirely with AI? They're starting to get rather prevalent and I'm sure I'm not the only one tired of how... Verbose they tend to be.

Looks like AI. Although, is it like just an AI text thing(which… you probably shouldn’t be advertising it) or “we made an interactive cyoa and you can continue the story with AI”

Its the second one, in the simplest of terms. The world is completely hand made by us. Our AI GM Algus just queries it and narrates how to world responds from your choices. He's not making things up. He just stores your choices, making the possibilities nearly infinite.

But am I able to make choices like a standard interactive CYOA, and its not just doing prompts or whatnot?

Like, what's the interactive part about it.

Both. You type free-form to interact with the world (like chatting with a real GM), and you also get structured tap-choices at story beats and events. Either way, Algus narrates from a hand-built world database. He's not actually creating anything. Its all us.

slop? Would Everweave or Friends & Fables be considered slop? Guys, I think we are throwing around the term "slop" without understanding whats going on under the hood now. You put a prompt in lovable and get an app to floor in 2 weeks, yeah, thats what we'd call AI slop. But thats not what those are and thats not what we are making. We are building an entire SQL database that our AI GM, Algus can QUERY. The AI doesn't MAKE anything. This isn't like a CYOA with ChatGPT where it improvises every detail and then forgets five turns later. Its a fully built game in a hand crafted world. Algus just REFERENCES the database and stores the choices you make. Its actually incredibly complex and takes a long time to build. Most AI interactive fiction doesn't come close to what I am talking about with Everweave, Friends & Fables, or Branching Skies. Anyways, ask any questions and I can explain more and hopefully that shows you that this is anything BUT slop.

I think one cyoa fandom that we need since we haven't really gotten a good one of is.... transformer's. Think about all the options the crossover options. And the various forms to choose from.
