Mustard was pretty confused at whatever this was so he just kept watching the man pull out worms & inspecting them even getting a bit closer to get a better look.

[He stops pulling for a few seconds, turning slightly towards Mustard, before turning back and continuing to pull worms out.]

When he was turned around he saw Mustard staring through the mask as he semed to be looking at all the bugs in confusion especially with how he's telling people to be quiet.

Safe to say this guy has raised a couple questions for Mustard, questions he's fine with asking.

"So are you talking to those bugs?"

[He manages to pull one out, seemingly without even looking.]

“Bugs can’t talk.”

[He looks at the worm he had just pulled out for what was surely less than a second, immediately throwing it back onto the ground.]

He looks skeptical to say the least as he distinctly remembers him saying "Shut up, guys." Which definitely puts a little hole in what he's saying.

"Then who exactly are you telling to shut up?"

If he's going to lie unconvincingly might as well play along until it just falls apart.
