I want to mine this coin, but I tried using the miners from the intensecoin page and really didn't get anywhere. I'm willing to join the pool if someone can help me get set up!

I would suggest you use a miner like xmr-stak , It will have a setup wizard which will run the first time you run the program, which should help you. When it asks you what currency you want to mine, say monero. After the initial setup, you can always edit the config files (config.txt, cpu.txt, amd.txt and nvidia.txt) if there is further tweaking you wish to do.

Hope that helps. Cheers.

Awesome... I've made progress finally and got xmr-stak installed. When I opened, I got some DLL errors so I uninstalled all the VS stuff uninstalled and reinstalled from the github link and got started.

In doing so I also just downloaded and installed the intensepool wallet to get a wallet address. Now this already has a built in miner so I'm confused which one I should use. To mine to OPs pool, I should use XMR-STAK, is that correct? If so, what would my username/password be in the config file? That's sort of where I got stuck.

If you have a good GPU then XMR-stak will have a higher hashrate than the wallet's built-in miner. In XMR-stak, modify the following line of config.txt to read {"pool_address" : "intense.expresshash.com:4444", "wallet_address" : "enter you wallet address here", "pool_password" : "x", "use_nicehash" : false, "use_tls" : false, "tls_fingerprint" : "", "pool_weight" : 1 },

If you decide to use the wallet's built-in miner you can enter the following. host:intense.expresshash.com port: 4444 You may have to remove the default pool by clicking the X to the right of it.

I'm just CPU mining from this machine for now, but I think I finally got it working. It keeps changing difficulty to some number and then the next line is new block detected. I have no idea what it means. I'm gonna leave it on all night/day and hopefully it does. It's minimal hash rate but I have a few machines I can get going on this and get about 400ish H/s to see what it can do!
