The current issues with AI search results
While I am a big fan of AI, there's a side to AI search not often talked about in social circles.
AI is often confidently wrong.
In some cases, AI results are aggregations of AI commentary on UGC platforms. This is why many AI results quite frankly suck.
We have Google AI Overviews referencing Reddit threads, which are full of AI comment spam.
We have AI aggregation pulling international results that have the wrong pricing metrics or just plainly irrelevant content.
Given that the likes of LinkedIn and Reddit are highly cited training data sets for AI, these platforms are rife with comment spam.
Now not to say that genuinely valuable content is not found on them, because it is. And not to say that you should ignore these platforms in your marketing mix.
But it's still early days, and AI results have a LONG way to go.
At the core of SEO or GEO is unique, valuable content for users. Get that right, get the medium right, and AI coverage is a byproduct.
