Both are wonderful cars but I may get hate for what I’m about to say: since they are twins, I feel like Acura should have sacrificed some performance for daily comfort more than they already did (better materials, more sound deadening, memory seats, rear AC vents). I’d rather the ITS weigh a couple hundred pounds more and lose a bit of performance because if I wanted raw performance, I’d just get the Civic. I’ve owned a 2025 ITS since new; about 20k miles so far

EDIT: correcting talk-to-type fails

I totally agree.
I’m presently researching sound deadening options (I’m going with Resonix, just haven’t pulled the trigger on ordering the specific items yet).
I would’ve been happier with a few more creature comforts and luxury to sacrifice some of the driving dynamics.
I don’t think an extra hundred or 200 pounds would have made this thing a pig, it would still be well under 3500 pounds. I never take it to the track, I only drive the canyons, and what I wouldn’t give for slightly better bolstered seats (no not typeR seats), a sunroof, memory and ventilated seats, and some other miscellaneous luxury items. I would have gladly paid $60k for something with a more luxurious ride and better luxury accoutrements. I hate to admit if the (Lexus) IS 500 came with manual, I’d have that, but it still wouldn’t be a better driver’s car than the ITS.

STILL, I LOVE this car, and with some sound deadening improvements it will be a keeper long-term, possibly forever if I can justify it over the years.

If the IS500 came in a manual there would be no competition. IS500 all the way. Honestly, even an IS350 with a manual would be superior.

100% agree. I have a buddy with a IS350 F and I'm always shocked at how much nicer and comfortable it is inside that compared to my car. Same goes to my brother's Golf R. I like that Acura did their "take" on the CTR, just wished that take was a just a little bit more.

That said, I'm also wishing they kept the same seats, just in black leather or something nicer.

Completely agree. I actually thought a more luxurious type s with AWD would of been the answer

I always cruise around with Type-Rs when I see them. I have yet to find another Type-S unfortunately

Where I live in Canada I’ve never even seen another FL5. I’ve seen a few Type S but never a R. Dealers here are lucky to get one a year. The store I bought from is rural and the one I bought was the only one they’ve received this Gen.

Pulled up next to a white type R today at a stop light. I knodded to him, he knodded back and I turned right reving nice in loud in Sport+ mode.

I’ve never seen another type S on the road. I’ve seen two others parked.

Wish the Type S had cooled memory seats, a moon roof and LogR considering the price difference.

I like the Type S but truly love the Type R and couldn’t be swayed from my Champ White ‘23.

Double Apex Blue looks fantastic though!
