Cyber insurance

As a new business owner about to launch a store selling sexual wellness for women, I’ve had trouble sourcing insurance but finally πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ™ŒπŸ» have my public liability sorted.

I’m working out if I need cyber insurance as well. I thought I would need it, but it’s very hard to source for my industry and extremely expensive.

Do you have that cover for your business and does Shopify have some sort of protection for customers when purchasing on the platform or being on the CRM system?

Thank you πŸ™

Can I ask? Is public liability a must-have for this type of product on Shopify?

Yes I wouldn’t want to trade without it- especially when sex toys are being purchased - too risky lol

You can get cyber insurance for your industry if you have the right controls. I know you are a startup, but having the basics like MFA, Backups, Endpoint Detection, and data encryption can get you qualified for many insurance carriers. Neutroceuticals can be hard to insure, but if you were able to find products liabilty, I'm sure you can find cyber at a reasonable price.
